WEN will last longer than you think it will. I only need to cleanse 1-2 times per week. With shampoo, I had to wash my hair much more often because my scalp would get greasy and itchy within a couple of days - not so with WEN.

In winter, I routinely cleanse only once per week. In summer, I cleanse only 2x per week. My hair is the healthiest it has ever been and there is not a day that goes by without someone complimenting my hair.Truly!

My hair is starting to thin out some and it is dry from coloring. I am trying to grow it out from a short style to a medium length and I also need some body in my hair. I do blow dry my hair.

I am not getting the shampoo as it is quite pricey when you consider how many pumps you have to put on your hair, and then having to experiment to see which of the products is best for you. I thought perhaps I would try the Sweet Almond styling cream, for body and shine. Does it have a nice scent too?

However, I would really appreciate your opinions and also, if you could tell me exactly how I am supposed to apply the cream. Thank you.

The styling products are good quality products, they won't damage your hair but they won't do anything to help the problems with your hair. It's the cleansing conditioner that is the core product of WEN. You have to use it for WEN to make your hair better. The styling crème will help protect your hair from heat damage. With dry and thinning hair, I would suggest Tea Tree cleansing conditioner. This weekend everything's on easy pay which makes it easy to try.

There are some good priced kits available here:

A188267 - Tea Tree and Sweet Almond Mint 40.00

A81171 - 3 pc set - Fig, Lavender, Tea Tree 71.00

A239449 - 4 pc set - Tea Tree and Sweet Almond Mint cleansing conditioners, mousse and Remoist deep conditioner - $59.50

A259479 - yesterday's TSV - 5 bottles for $87.92. Call and ask for TSV price.

The styling crème is $29 and will last you forever.

All of these are on easy pay this weekend with the Jan 31 return.

With short hair, it will last longer than you think it will and with dry hair, you don't cleanse every day. If you are wanting to get your hair in better shape, it's worth the investment.

gem lover, you can tell a difference the first cleanse as far as dryness and manageability. It takes longer to see the breakage stop and new growth start. But with consistent use, your hair will be better. I've used WEN almost 9 years and it doesn't look like the WEN girls, but it's the best my hair can be and I get compliments on it all the time.

I agree - it lasts forever! I started using wen only a few months ago and already see the difference. I will be switching my 6 yo once we run out of her other all-organic stash (you know what one of her Christmas presents will be .

Gem lover. I have long elbow length hair. In 2012 I used wen for 3-4 months exclusive and it did nothing to reduce my shampoo schedule. If I was to use wen everyday a 16oz bottle will last me a week. I stopped useing wen for it was costing me a $100/month to wash my hair and I get better results with regular shampoo. I use Hempz Couture. its also expensive, about the same price but lasts me 15x longer and gives me perfect hair. I am not putting anyone or the product down I am just speaking from my experience.

kcladyz, we are aware of your view of WEN and thank you for tempering your normal language. However, I do disagree with you - I don't spend anywhere near $100/month on WEN - that would be 2 32 oz bottles a month. The Auto Delivery program is one bottle every 3 months. So, $50 divided by 3 is $13/month. I understand those with long hair use more, those with short use less. I'm glad you've found a shampoo you like this week. Wasn't it Pantene last week?

At first, the more you cleanse, the faster the benefits come. If you are going 2 days between cleanses whether shampoo or WEN, it's not as oily as mine was when I started using WEN. I had to wash my hair every day, some days twice. I started before the oils and tea tree came out that deal specifically with oily hair, but it did take longer than a few weeks. Using the TT oil will help.

Just be patient and remember using WEN it will only get better. Welcome to WEN!!

I agree with the other posters, the CC is really what will help the most. Once your scalp normalizes you will be able to go longer between cleansing and the cost will be about the same if not cheaper than regular shampoo. If you only use the styling products you will not reap all the benefits; the whole point of Wen is that you are no longer using shampoo. Once you eliminate the sudsing and stripping of shampoo, the health of your hair will significantly increase over time as your regrowth comes in and you are no longer abusing it with shampoo. I highly recommend getting yesterday's TSV in the core formulas to find out which formula works best for you and get started. As you can see by a post above, there are people that don't like Wen. Wen isn't one size fits all, but there are so many options, formulas, styling products, etc that it is easy to cater to what your hair needs. You just need to find the formula and product combination that works best for you! There are many helpful posts on this forum to help you get started and determine what will be best for your hair and what you want out of Wen. Welcome and good luck!

One more comment... I find that RTM, especially 613 RTM, does wonders on non-freshly-washed hair. Every time when I think "ok, this is it, I have to wash today", I spray 613 and it carries me over another day.

I only use the cleansing conditioners and the occasional pump of a styling cream I received with a set last year! I use Wen because it is the only product I have found that does not strip the color from my hair. I have to do a root touch up every two weeks because my hair grows so fast; it is beyond shoulder length. I find I do not need as many pumps as is recommended because my hair is in pretty descent shape. I only do a double cleanse about twice a week. For me, Wen is the most economical product I own. I am basically cheap and lazy when it comes to my hair , and Wen allows me to be both. I am 56 years old, 90% white (I bypassed grey) but color treated to medium brunette, medium to slightly coarse texture, and I only use the seasonals. FAS and FTP are my favorites when the furnace is running. In the summer, most any formula will do. I usually choose my higher humidity formulas based on scent! I really didn't have much of a "learning curve" with Wen; I was happy with the results immediately (almost 3 years ago). It did take me a couple of months to realize that my color was no longer fading! I hope you find success in whichever hair care product you choose.

I can not use the stuff on dry hair, or 2nd day hair (even though I wet it and restyle). My hair goes limp and looks greasy. However, I use it as part of my leave-in when I cleanse, and also a lot on my skin.

I got the seasonals TSV and used it this morning. My hair desperately needs moisture and needs to be more manageable, and I saw an improvement after one use. Because my hair is curly, it gets deformed and looks bad when I comb it. Therefore, I have to wet it before I go out even if I just washed it the day before. I plan to give it a quick rinse and add some as a leave-in when it's not dirty but looks bad and needs to air dry.

My hair was a night mare before I found Wen and after four and one half years of Wen exclusively, my hair IS like the models'. Your hair can be too. Chaz is right, I believe...anyone can glean those benefits from Wen. The other poster is right. It's the cleansing conditioner that will help your hair plus the re moist mask. The styling creme is a heat protectant and gloss in one. The more you use the cleansing conditioner the more you benefit. Make sure the scalp and hair are covered and get a good cream up going. After applying it, get a good splash of water to emulsify and get it all creamy. MMMMM! It's enjoyable. Sweet Almond Mint smells amazing but the seasonals, I think have more amino acids and all that good stuff that will only make hair stronger and have a deep shine. The new Winter one is lovely. I used that and the pear together in the shower and it smelled like bananas. My nose may be off as I'm having sinus trouble. It smelled great though, really. I can take one hair and I do this from time to time....and try to break it in half as my hair is very long. It will stretch quite a bit until it snaps. It's like stretching a rubber band, that's how much elasticity Wen imparts to the hair. I think it's truly remarkable. xo Good luck, hon.
