For a medical procedure, which this technically is, you don't tip.

For salon/spa procedures, tipping is customary.

Are we sup'd to be tipping the nurse esthetician for injections? I had the same lady for two years, she was a friend of a friend, and she told me no, we don't tip. I now have a new lady at a new place and was wondering what is the protocol on this? TIA

It is a medspa, and the lady is injecting prescription medication and has to be an RN PLUS work under a Dr's medical license, so I'm guessing we would call it medical even though it is sort of a gray area being called a medical spa. Thanks. I don't think we should tip. With these injections they can run up into the $1,000-plus range.

Would you tip the doctor who operated on you? The anesthesiologist who put you to sleep? No? Then you don't tip a nurse either.

This whole tipping thing has gotten way, way, way out of hand.

No, I wouldn't tip. My dermatologist ' s office does these type procedures and I do not think it is expected or proper. And I agree that tipping is expected and warranted in some occupations but has exploded out of control in others when it is not required.
