OT A Rant: UPS

I finally convinced my hubby to buy the Tova limited edition perfume set for me for Christmas. I really wanted this and had been looking forward to receiving this beautiful set. Yesterday, I got notice via email that this was out for delivery in my area. I kept a look out for UPS, as my fur kids try to eat the UPS man and truck. About 6 P.M., I saw the UPS van speed by my house and just got a weird feeling. I went on line and the tracking info said it had been delivered at 6p.m. Delivered? Where? Not here. I called the Q, just to get the same tracking info that I had just looked up, and was told they could not act until the 8th. THE 8TH!!! Tova is "retiring" this set after the end of this month! I am so bummed. I am hoping the neighbor UPS delivered this to will be honest and either return it to UPS or walk in down to my house, but I am not expecting such morality in this area. I posted this here as the Beauties on this board have become my "friends" over the years.

I would call UPS and say it is saying on the tracking it was delivered but it wasn't so you want to know where it went.

Don't underestimate your neighbors.

I order specialty ingredients from an online market. FedEx delivered it to the wrong address. 2 days later, the neighbor brought the box to me with everything intact.

Call UPS instead of Q! They can do something now, not in a week.

Contact UPS. Also on your tracking did it say something like "met man/woman/customer at door" ? I live in an urban neighborhood and am very careful to follow the tracking on my personal account with UPS. It is free to sign up. I like UPS the best of the companies , of course the regular man in brown is very reliable and good at his job. I am glad when something is delivered by UPS and not their competition .

Also in line with HonnyBrown's comment maybe your neighbor is concerned about bringing over because of your fur children. If you feel safe doing so you might go ask if something for you was delivered there by mistake.

^^^ Yes, call UPS. The very same thing happened to me years ago with a huge Tova collection that was a TSV. The Q basically shrugged their collective shoulders and said, "too bad - can't do anything about it". UPS at least tried to recover it from the recipient but had no luck. No one would answer the door. They left a message at their door telling them to call asap for recovery. Never did. Never got my collection. Sure hope someone smelled good for a long time. (This was before the formula changed. So it was the real thing.)

A few years ago UPS delivered my package to my next door neighbor. I also saw the truck speed by and walked next door, and sure enough, there was my package with my name on it. My neighbor would have returned it, but he wasn't home so just took it. Just last week I was waiting for a UPS package containing my insulin pen needles. After waiting till after 9, I looked at my online tracking which claimed the package had been delivered. I started to go to some of my neighbors (I live in a complex now) when I thought just in case, I would check the back door. Sure enough, there it was.

I've called UPS immediately when something like that has happened. They contacted the driver to track down the package.

Faith in my neighbors (somewhat) restored. A lady drove up from 61, I live at 51, gave me the package, and said she returned home at 10:30 last night and thought it was too late, I thank you all for your input and support. I will know what to do in the future should this happen again.

Stuff happens... I received an HSN package that was my next door neighbors one time year ago..... I opened it thinking it was something that I had ordered and was expecting about the same time. I saw that it was not mine... it was a Suzanne Somers jewelry item. I took it next door and apologized for opening the box.... the neighbor and I both order quite a bit sometimes and even the poor UPS guy can make a mistake with all the hussle and bussle!

I don't know what it is....but this year I have had such bad luck with deliveries from UPS and Fed EX......they seem so sloppy where they drop off my packages...fortunately my neighbors bring "lost" items back to me....and I have had to do the same for them....

One time I asked the UPS man why he dropped my package next door.....he said "I did not"...."let me see the package".....geez....it happened to be sitting in the living room so I showed him....and he said..."oh, yes I did...sorry...".....

You are very fortunate. I've got a few pricey things being delivered over the coming weeks and will ship them to work. It being a prison, so if an employee steals them, I'll have it on camera. They are usually great when telling employee's their packages have arrived, plus I'll let them know that they are coming in on that day so they can call me and I take them to the car. The packages are going to be in the manufacturers box, so the person collecting them will see that they are a tv and printer.

here in Los Angeles, they added on the temporaries for holidays a few weeks ago. i think a lot of the errors can come from the inexperienced - not the regulars. but their delivering the day after Thanksgiving - in a departure from recent past years - tells me they don't want any mess ups like last year which punished earnings. a lot of it was due then to weather snarling things up - but affected their reputation as the ultimate deliverer.

I've had stuff delivered to my next door neighbor too. If I see it was delivered I just start checking around if I don't see it. This time of year especially I feel terrible for those poor people. The mailman and the ups guys. It's like triple their regular workload. I usually give them all homemade cookies as a gift.

Glad it worked out. UPS will literally have a GPS location for the delivery so they can tell where it went missing. I found this out when two packages were stolen.

That is good to know blahblahv. Where I am UPS is wonderfully accurate. I find their competition not so much.

Isn't it wonderful to encounter honest people josey girl. I am glad for you.
