On 11/9/2014 HappyDaze said:
On 11/9/2014 HisElk said:
On 11/8/2014 HappyDaze said:
It isn't a quick fix by any means but for me it truly worked without any scary chemicals, etc so I've been very happy with the results. For my lashes, with daily use, I'd say it took 2 months or so to really notice that they were no longer breaking off like they'd occasionally do and about 3 months to see that the length had significantly increased. Now if you already have longer lashes, I have no idea but my lashes have always been kind of puny and broke pretty easily so I was really able to notice a difference.

Thanks, HappyDaze. I'm seriously thinking about trying the RHO; just a little apprehensive about putting the oil so near my eyes. Our local vitamin shop carries this line and also the Aura Cacia line. I noticed however, that it speaks to not using near the eye area, which is my concern. Your opinion?

I have sensitive eyes and cannot use many things near my eyes- from chemical sunscreens to many facial cleansers and moisturizers. I cannot use castor oil or baby oil near my eyes. I have been able to use RHO, marula, baobab and argan oil on my lashes with no issues but RHO is my favorite. I don't saturate the lashes though, just apply a thin coat of it with the mascara wand. There isn't any dripping down my lashes into my eyes. I know alot of people who have been using RHO around the eyes for a long time now and no issues. I also know they make eye creams to use around the eyes as well. I've never read anything about not using RHO near my eyes and would be curious as to why it says not to unless it is in case of irritation, basically a CYA type warning.

Thanks. Perhaps it is a CYA thing. I just checked Vitamin shop's site and interestingly enough, 2 brands, NOW and Aura Cacia both advise to not use near eyes. STO description says nothing about avoiding the eye area.

EDIT: Do you use the RO and carrot perfecting serum from STO? TIA. Just want to make sure I'm going to order the right one.

Thanks so much for your time; you are very helpful.

I apply it on my entire eye area. I think it also is great for the crows feet area. I also like it down my neck. I keep mine in the refrigerator.

I use an old, clean mascara wand and apply it from the base of lashes to the tips, like applying mascara. My lashes have never been this long since I've started applying it there. Also, they no longer break as easily. I also apply it daily to my nails and have never had strong, long nails before. It is a great multi tasker. It is one of the few oils I can use around my eyes without irritation or feeling like a layer of oil is covering my eyes, lol.

Castor oil applied with an eye liner brush to your lash line would be more effective than rosehip seed oil for lashes. However, products specifically for lash growth would be 10x better. In my opinion. There is quite a bit of information online about castor oil for lash growth.

Rosehip seed oil is an outstanding anti-aging oil.

I had 1, 2, and now 3-month rechecks (labs & CT scans). The last scan (August) showed 2 new nodules in my right lung. BUT this disease will not beat me!

And thank you!

I had Melanoma on my right arm & primary lymph node back in '98, 2-year surgeries & immunotherapy treatment. Then 15 years (to the day) I was rediagnosed with Melanoma in my left lung & brain. Had newer immunotherapy last Fall and have been clear since December. I had 1, 2, and now 3-month rechecks (labs & CT scans). The last scan (August) showed 2 new nodules in my right lung. BUT this disease will not beat me!

I was just about to reply to someone on another thread about something. If you're at all familiar with my posts, you know I can be stubborn.

But I read your words here and had a change of heart. Something about perspective, I'm thinking. Something about what really matters.

Thanks, F1wild. I will keep you in my thoughts.

This last time I looked inward, really figuring out myself. If I have it again I'm going to relearn to speak Swedish.

And back to the Rosehip Seed Oil (b4 I hijacked the thread)! Has anyone used both the STO and ASDM and can provide a good comparison?

They did a wide and long incision. The margins came back clean. I have a scar on my back about for 4 inches long. My Melanoma was the size of a nickel. I take this scar over cancer any day. The scar is a reminder for me to not to take life for granted because this cancer can come back in different areas of the body. I just had my 6 month skin check and I was clean of any funny looking moles.

There are several here on this forum that are Melanoma survivors, our own little club. My initial lesion was a tiny freckle thing, didn't fit into the ABCD categories, but I had a funny feeling about it. My scar is horizontal about halfway around my right arm, above my elbow. Kids, especially patients, used to ask me what happened. Moms would shush them, but I had no trouble telling the little ones it was a shark bite.
