Great tip about argon oil!

I almost never post on these boards but felt this was needed. I have seen quite a few gasps at the price of the argon oil presented on QVC. Ladies, this is by far, not the only argon game in town. I purchase 100% pure argon oil in 2 ounce bottles at the local drugstore and I see it fairly often in places like Marshalls and TJMaxx in their beauty departments. Look on the back of the bottle ,if it says under "ingredients", Argania Spinosa Kernal Oil, and this is the ONLY ingredient listed, this my friends is 100% argon oil!! you just are not paying for a celebrity name on it!! I paid 14. 99 for a 2 oz. bottle.....go on a hunt, it's out there!

Amazon has some and most have good reviews. Organic etc. I just ordered some.

Awesome! It's so important to read the ingredients listed on, not only beauty products, but every thing including food!

That's a great tip, and thanks for sharing it! So many people look at the front of the package and forget to read the tiny writing.

This website is brand specific, but that aside, there's lots of information. The Q/A at the end is comprehensive & fair w/ their answers (if another brand is good, they'll say). Cold Pressed is key.

Yes, I saw how expensive it was the other day on QVC.

I use argan oil, but buy elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.

100% pure, first cold pressed argan oil is ALL OVER for a lot less. Josie also distills and deodorises hers, which depletes some of the essentual fatty oils . NOT knocking hers, I have a bottle of it and I do buy her kits. The local oil I buy is just as good, and the price can not be beat. I (JMO) would not pay the price the Q wants for the oil alone.

Lady's I bought argan oil in Morocco and I was instructed to cook with it! Salad dressing, frying, etc. It is very mild and tastes wonderful! There was no discussion about putting it on your body or hair!

I don't know the validity of the person who wrote that article but I do agree, pure, first cold pressed argan oil should be slightly cloudy and possibly have a little sediment. Which Josie's does NOT. She definitely must process her oil to at the very least to clarify it and remove the sediment, even though she says she doesn't process it. Any time you process something, you lose a little bit of the good nutrients in it. Not to say hers is bad but it does not warrant the price and it is not the most potent, if that matters to anyone.

I agree. I find the video at the end to be complexly bogus. JM Argan Oil doesn't smell like argan oil because it's over processed, not because it's fake.

I do agree with their point about price, too. You don't need to buy the most expensive, but I also avoid the cheapest based on the "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" premise.

It has been used in cosmetics since the 50's. You porbably bought food grade oil, that is why they did not tell you to use it on your skin. Food grade MAY (not always) be the second or third press instead of the first. if that is the case, it tends to be a little thicker and not as easily absorbed. Yes cook with it, it is very healthy,

if you email Josie, she will tell you that hers is DISTILLED and DEODORISED to remove the sediment and odor. yes, it does loose some of the goodness that way, that is why I prefer to buy other brands, certified organic first cold pressed and UNPROCESSED in any way. The slight scent disapates in no time and I like knowing it has all the goodness in. NOT KNOCKING her brand, I do use her products, just prefer other brands for the 100% pure argan oil

I buy my Argan oil at my local health food store. It's NOW brand 100% pure and certified organic. Works well for me and I think I paid about $12 or $13 for it.

I have purchased the Plant Life brand at Marshalls for $14 for a large bottle and it is fine, it just is much more earthy smelling than the stuff I buy from Amazon (it was recommended on this board the brand I buy, I just can't think of it right now). I won't use the smelly stuff on my face, I mix it with body lotion.

After reading this and watching the video, I wonder why Josie hasn't gone after them for saying her product is not real? Is it true or not? How can they get away with this? Doesn't she have people to put a stop to this? I use her product and now I'm not sure!

Thank you for posting this and saving me some money. I have only bought Josie's in the past and love it but the price is quite high. I will now check out other sources. I think I would prefer completely unprocessed for the additional health benefits.

Anyone care to share what brand they have tried and really love?

The oil is such a wonderful source of essential fatty acids that it has helped my energy level and also I put it on my knees and it helps with arthritis. Essential fatty acids are known to help with that. My knees don't hurt like they did before.

The brand I buy is Mogador from Amazon. It was recommended by someone on this forum a few months ago. I am on my 3rd bottle.

I bought Josie's TSV kit last month on AD. It's a good value and I do love that argan milk for daytime.

LT Organics. I get their 100% pure organic argon oil from Amazon. It's not distilled like some claim J Maran' s is. It's a great company with good customer service. Received a thank you note from them for purchasing from LT Organics. And it's a fraction of the cost of J Maran.

Josie's argan oil large bottle is $109.00. It last way over a year. That works out to about $9.00/month. It is a pure 100% argan oil. It has done good things for my 65 year old skin. I use it at night, only argan oil. NOTHNG else! No break outs, has smooth out my fine and deeper wrinkles. I also put a little on my hair before and after blow drying it. I use it on my whole body. I think that their are other argan oils out there that are just as good. But i prefer Josie's. I don't purchase beauty products from TJ Max and Ross and Marshall's because their products are returns from other stores.
