Need a recommendation for a very moisturizing foundation for a 60+ fair skin, but not a real porcelain. I still get these pesky blocked pores but lately everything I use looks dry on me after a while. Any suggestions?

What have you used in the past?

I find Josie Maran's Matchmaker Serum Foundation (A330593) to be very moisturizing, but it is not full coverage and only comes in three colors that are supposed to adjust to your skin tone. Some find it to be too greasy, but a light dusting of powder fixes that. I like it for those days when I am just wearing a little MU.

I recently switched to BareMinerals Bare Skin Serum Foundation with comes with a brush (A256043), which I love. I got it in last month's TSV (A256197) that came with a dusting powder (Perfecting Veil), blush, eyecolor, lipgloss and two brushes. Highly recommend.

I like Josie's foundation. It is not full coverage, by any means, but it evens the skin and it looks very a natural, like you don't have on a heavy face full of make up. I use that, a little blush, eyeliner, lip stick and out the door. Simple and very soft looking.

Deb

I have very dry skin also, and share the foundation struggle! So far all the prestige brand liquids are too dry for me and give me a cakey look in my super dry areas. I am frustrated and ready to give up on them. I have tried so many including Lorac, IT CC, Smashbox, and Tarte , just to name a few recent tries. Most powder foundations are also too dry with the exception of IT celebration foundation. Sometimes I want more coverage of a liquid then I can get from the powder though.

For now I am going to revisit the drug store brands that I have had luck with in the past, Almay, or Loreal. After hearing many great reviews I recently bought the Revlon color stay, it was also too dry and caked. I always use a good primer, but it doesn't seem to help me.

I look forward to reading the suggestions here. I have been really working on my skin, and hope I can keep my skin more hydrated, my problem was that I am also acne prone, and until recently ANY moisturizer broke me out immediately. I want to mention I LOVE several of these foundations and really hope to be able to use them and end this struggle for good.

I tried the Josie foundation at Sephora, it may be moist enough, but very shear and the colors were all a bad match, I am light/med cool toned, and it was a funny orange on me.

I also tried the Josie Maran foundation that goes on colorless and it turned a funny yellow orange on me. What is her tinted moisturizer like? No matter what moisturizer I use under foundation, it cakes up on me it looks awful

Mac face and body foundation. Comes in so many colors very moisturizing and gives light to medium coverage and it is build able. I'm really loving this. Also you can get the 4 ounce bottle @ maccosmetics.com for $35. Check out some you tube videos on the face and body you can see the finish.

Have you tried changing your moisturizer before changing your foundation?

A better moisturizer might do the trick with current foundations.

That said, in summer I mix my own tinted moisturizer by adding foundation to my moisturizer and apply over clean skin with serum first.

Why the heck am I spending mucho $ on a tinted moisturizer when I have the basic ingredients right on my vanity?!
