Well, that's a bit harsh!..

Lisa was all about "style" and I'm sure many people (myself included) made purchases to achieve a similar level of style. I was simply pointing out that without Lisa's encouragement, my wallet will be getting a break. It was the only "glass half-full" that I could think of.

Darn it, I should have bought stock BEFORE I bought those G.I.L.I. bags. Bad planning on my part, I blame Lisa.

Actually think I will miss her decorating shows the most. I've borrowed (stolen) lots and lots of ideas from her.

Me too!!! I looked forward to her decorating shows...sigh. I still can't believe she is going...still in shock I guess.

I wonder if , with new management, QVC is going in a different direction and Lisa was not going to be the center of the universe anymore.Personally, I would like to see them not be so heavy into fashion and beauty anymore, and do more household - but that is just my opinion.

Actually, w/o the personal attacks, there is potential here for an interesting discussion.

happy housewife...Until you mentioned it, I had not considered the management change.

I was contemplating the financial implications, which could be substantial, initially. I think that a shift in demographics is also a possibility. Those shoppers who gravitated toward Lisa's GILI line are unlikely to migrate to the Quacker. Without a more trendy substitute, some of those GILI customers will translate into lost sales. I think it is fair to say that jewelry sales (particularly gold) have been off for a while. The shows from Italy have become shorter and fewer. I'm not sure that I can picture Dan Hughes at the Villa del Piazza, selling jewelry by candlelight! So, that's probably another financial loss. Those 2 areas will be impacted the most. It's too early to predict the duration of the financial hit, but I'm sure they are thinking about it, now. OMG...forgot about the beauty department..could be another hit!!

I think they liked her style and enjoyed her shows. They just think that without her they won't watch/enjoy/buy as much. A colorful expression only. QVC may or may not find another host that will bring those fans back.

I still think LR will come back occasionally as a vendor for some line, whether it's her own or another. Maybe she just needs a break and wants to establish herself as an entrepreneur. I'm sure she has a plan!

I agee.

No host is bigger than the entity of QVC. Lisa carved a huge niche for herself at QVC, and certainly many of her most devoted fans will miss her very much. Some may even choose not to watch for a while, but most will continue to watch and shop from QVC. Human nature being what it is, by this time next year there will be another host who has several separate threads running about them -- each with dozens of posts.

Naw--she'll be fine! She's intelligent and resourceful and prob has more money than god and she is very knowledgeable about the fashion and make up industry as well as contacts in both those fields as well as in Italy. Time to spread her wings and do what she wants to do. Bravo Lisa and good luck!!!
