While I have invested in skincare that uses serums, I find myself wishing they weren't so sticky on my face. Right now, I'm using Isomers, which I feel is a quality line, but by the time I apply one or two, my face is so tacky I can hardly stand it.

I'm officially done with buying serums because of this issue.

I know it's not the end of the world, but I find myself just wanting something on my face that is soothing, moisturizing and NOT sticky!

I really cannot stand sticky serums/products either. Not all are created equal though, there are some wonderful products that are very lightweight, absorb quickly and aren't sticky. It is just a matter of finding the right ones but it can get costly and time consuming to find the right ones.

Do you wait for one serum to absorb before applying the next? You might want to try that if you haven't already. You could also cocktail them together and apply them. I'm using the new Skinn Elite Stem Rejen Serums and I don't find them to be sticky at all. They are almost like a light lotion and they absorb well. I do apply a vitamin c serum with it in the AM but I let it absorb before applying the Stem Rejen. Good luck! Finding the right products can be frustrating.

I think you need to become an ingredient detective to determine what works for your skin and the climate where you live.

For example, hyaluronic acid attracts water from the atmosphere, so it will always feel a little bit tacky on the skin if you live in a humid climate.
The drawback in e!iminating serums completely from a skincare regiment is that they are the most ingredient dense products we use. Creams and lotions are far more diluted as compared to serums so my skin would be missing out on my most effective products. It can be frustrating to find that perfect consistency but well worth the effort, imo anyway.

..okay.... So, serums aren't working for you, stop using them. I tried a serum once, used it for a couple of weeks and tossed it out. I don't like heavy "stuff" on my face. I perfer a light moisturizer that absorbs quickly. Serums are relatively new anyway, more about marketing than anything else. The vast majority of women who take care of their skin don't use serums.

I'm with you on stickiness. It's the one factor that would get me to stop using a product. I love philosophy miracle worker, but stopped as it is always sticky.

I find most all products on their own are NOT sticky. It is when I layer them that I get stickiness.

Try each one on their own. It may not be the product but the layering.

Hyacinth

I really believe in the Isomers line and I'm not knocking the products. However, lately, the sticky factor has really been annoying me. Perhaps it's something with the air, or my skin, but whatever it is, I just don't like it.

It's not just Isomers, however. I have OTHER serums I've gotten as samples and some of those are even worse -- no matter whether I use them alone or in a mix.

Yes, I "cocktail" them, and yes, I've applied individually and let them dry and sometimes, no matter what, there is a tacky feel.

As I said, it's not the end of the world and I won't stop using them, but my next purchase will likely not be a serum.

However, with such large bottles of the above 3 products, I probably won't use all the product in my lifetime.

My skin's moisture, firmness and skin barrier has improved so much from these 3 products you have listed. I leave off H pur all the time especially because the humidity is so high. I also do not mix Copper P & Matrixyl 20%. The Matrixyl might not be the problem but a God send. Your youthful moisture has returned. Thrilled that we got the products of this high quality and I do use all of them all over my body but not at the same time. It may be a pain but you have to read your skin regularly to decide what it needs at certain times. In the dead of winter those big bottles will be looking good.

As soon as I see the word serum I won't buy. I found serums to always be sticky on me years ago and only buy creams for my face and eye area.

I've been really pleased with the Korean ampoules (serums) I've been using, not only for what they address but also because they aren't sticky.

What brand do you use, if I may ask.

I've been using assorted ampoules for targeted results....peptides, collagen, etc.

Mizon Collagen Ampoule (used in the AM)
Mizon Peptide Ampoule (used in the AM)
Secret Key SynAke Ampoule (used in the AM & PM)
Mizon Night Repair Seruming Ampoule (used in the PM)

The collagen and peptide ampoules are thin. The synake and night repair ampoules are a little thicker, but not sticky. They can be cocktailed together (what I've been doing), or added to a few drops of toner and applied.

Serums are not as new as some may think - just a much wider selection than there used to be. I started using a serum in the mid 70's and haven't stopped since.
