Ok. I don't have anything against this host. By schedule a guy to host a cosmetics show ???? What in the world is the Q thinking.

I don't know what.....nor do I care what QVC is thinking.

What I AM thinking is what an excellent host Alberti is. He is well prepared, & knowledgable on all products he hosts. He out shines many "seasoned hosts" with his professional presentations. We don't hear all about his personal life, he doesn't giggle or stumble & studder thru his presentations. And YES, I AM watching & yes I DO like him.

I think he is doing a wonderful job! He has such a positive energy and he seems to know about the products. Jamie seems like such a positive happy person I think the two of them compliment each other as they are presenting together.

Alberti is doing a terrific job - he is versatile! I like all of his presentations with which ever Vendor & product(s) that are being sold. I too have been watching and I Do like him, too.

Some of the best makeup artists & skin care professionals in the world are men. Think he's doing a decent job & TBH, the men & ladies are sales people only, not skin/MU experts.

I don't know what YOU are thinking. I LOVE when Alberti does make up, fashion, or any beauty shows. He is one of the best, knowledgeable, and most professional of all of the hosts, even the most seasoned ones. He's also exceedingly refreshing !!!

He is fabulous and does not talk over the vendor like some of the females do when they get excited. I just love Alberti, he is precious!

I just watched the most informative, professional, congenial presentation I've seen in ages. Alberti is knowledgeable, obviously prepared to discuss Jamie's line and its properties, uses. There was not one moment of conflict. They were both polite, able to get the products characteristics to the viewers TOGETHER! I love IT cosmetics even though I can only use the eyeliners and mascaras.

Thank you QVC for ignoring the biased among us , allowing a "guy" to present cosmetics. You couldn't have chosen a better host. I feel relieved , soothed by a talented duo's collaboration. It's like Kathy Levine was back and you could watch, be entertained, informed, and smile.

Maybe that its 2014 and men and women can both most times both do any job without a problem? Alberti should host Friday Night Beauty some time. A two hour one. That would be fun.

Not sure, but I do know the absolute best make-up rep I ever dealt with for a make-over was a man. I have my hair cut by a man. I buy clothes designed by a man. I buy my better jewelry often from a man.

Are we really still saying man and women must stay on separate sides of the fence? That wasn't working so well for women when I was growing up!

Besides, if he gets stuck, there's a vendor rep. You know, that's the other person on the set, the one people are always asking the hosts to stop interrupting so they can give "real" info! Please, Alberti will do well, no matter what role he needs to take. I bet he could even do his face with whatever makeup is being sold - he's wearing makeup on screen, isn't he?

OMG, the old lady in me (and, yes, I'm one of those) is appalled this is even a discussion.

Skinn , the Lancôme makeup artist, and Ready to Wear cosmetics vendors are all male and brilliant at what they do. At another skincare site I go to, there was a member who was the most knowledgeable in skincare and all the skincare gadgets out there. And he is a man who also happens to be an esthetician.

QVC is leading the pack with having a male show host present a cosmetics program. Good for them for moving forward. The market for skincare aimed at men is wide open too, and he would be a great host to present those products.

Anytime someone breaks the mold, there will be criticism.

I agree with OP and we have a right to our opinion, also, without accusations of bias. The optimal words are: Artists and professionals. The people that you mention have gone to school for and been trained in an art, much like going to FIT. Don't belittle their craft by equating them to a product host! They are not giddy, or clap their hands, shriek, and skip around like a child. They don't mispronounce the product line over and over again, they don't run in front of the camera, and say "beautiful" ad nauseam.

The vendors are the complete show with Alberti as a host because he has NO personal experience using their product. He cannot testify to anything. It's like a woman selling mens briefs! They can see it, they can feel the softness, but the fit is just hype and empty rhetoric for they have never experienced the product and cannot appreciate its qualities. If you like an Eskimo selling air conditioners, fine, that is your opinion.

Here I am, the broken record: QVC needed someone who could bring a Bill Green-style host to the Q. Bill is phenomenal, and can sell anything to anyone. Alberti is that type of host, and I am a great fan of his. He is off to a terrific start.

I do not remember Bill a green ever doing cosmetics on HSN. I do think having Alberti doing that is stretching it a bit.

I'm thinking OP doesn't buy much in the cosmetic line. That's not a slam, if she were a heavy shopper, she would have confronted more men and it wouldn't seem so strange.

What is your problem? How many men do we see on QVC selling cosmetics! Quite a few: Edward Bess, Peter T. Roth, Lev Glazman, Dr. Gross, etc., etc., etc.
