I am interested in the 613 gallon. Is it really better than the regular CC's with a noticeable difference? Right now, I'm using FGP and Fig. I have thick, coarse, frizz prone hair.

I don't mean to dissuade you, and I'm sure you will receive many posts to the contrary. But, I have the same hair type as you and 613 dries out my hair horribly, makes it frizzy, prone to breakage, and just generally makes my hair unmanageable.

I think this has something to do with the extra protein in the formulation, as I have the same results when using the seasonals. I've learned my lesson the hard way, and now know not to stray away from FIG and TT.

ETA: I might purchase a smaller size first, to see if it works for you, OP. A gallon is a huge commitment to make without knowing for sure if that formula works for you.

There's always next year to get the gallon if you like it and think you'll use it regularly. While 613 is a treatment and smells wonderful, it can be drying. I don't think many people use only 613, they mix it with other CC's or use it as a second cleanse.

I agree with lizzief about 613. You definitely shouldn't buy a gallon of 613 if you have never tried it. Most of us can't use 613 very often. I like it but can't use it more than once a week. Many Wenners just use it occasionally and mix it with other formulas as was stated above.

It is never a good idea to buy a gallon of any of the Wen formulas that you have never tried. A formula that is terrific for some may not work for you.

I know the math makes the gallon size cheaper, in the long run, but my mind just can not get around the price point. I am surprised it sells so well.</h4>

Like CM said, buy a smaller bottle first. The first bottle I got, I used it for both cleanses and leave-in for 3 weeks. By that time, my hair was starting to get protein overload (straw). I backed off to once a week with good results, but I'm not ready to commit to a gallon.

Ignore any of the naysayers that say it is too expensive - if you are already using a product you are already aware of pricing and the results you get.

Now, I have similar hair and get fantastic results with 613. I only wash my hair 2x a week, sometimes 3, and try to use 613 at least once a week or once every 2 weeks. I treat it more as a treatment than a normal cleanse. If your hair is handling the protein of the seasonals well than your hair should be fine with 613 - however since you have not used it I would also agree to not purchase the gallon.

Instead, I would suggest trying out the set of 613 travel packettes (item #A238231), the fig and 613 set (since you are already using fig anyways this would stock you up for a much cheaper price of around $44 for the 2 16oz bottles, item #A238233) or even the 613 "home & away set" (you get 16oz CC, 4 packettes, 2oz styling creme, & 1.8oz mousse, item #A258093. The styling creme of 613 is my personal favorite especially when used before blow drying & flat ironing my hair).

Definitely try a smaller bottle first if you do decide to try it. It would also cost alot to send a gallon back if you don't like it.

Caitlin, it's not a good idea to get a bulk product of anything that you have never tried before.

Nickel, I forgot to say, I use seasonals sparingly since I use 613 at least once a week. I just finished Spring Orange Blossom and my Summer Honey Peach is almost full.

I am one of the Wengirls that needs to mix six thirteen with other CC's and then need to give it for a break or two. I do use the 613 as a facial cleanser with my Clarisonic. I jumped on a gallon last year , forgetting. I already had a few 32 ozs. I agree that if you have never tried it start off with the smaller bottle first. They have easy pay on the 32 oz a few times a year and the a March TSV has had six thirteen included in the kit the past few years.

Value wise, the gallon would be the way to go, but since you don't know if you/your hair is going to like 613, you might consider ordering a set of travel packets now, to test it. If you decide that you like it, you can still get a gallon in October as long as they don't sell out. I haven't heard if the easy pay will still be in effect or if that ends tonight. You might want to call CS to check on that.

The other option is to get the gallon now, if you want to be sure to get the easy pay. Try it out and see what you think. The nice thing is that the return period is extended to the end of January so you can actually give it more than a 30 day trial if you need to.

Colonel Meow, I use it as a mask on the weekends (under a shower cap for a few hours) and second cleanse midweek.

It was like that for me, too. Though I loved the scent and the consistency and the ingredients. On my hair it was a frizz disaster. I mixed....used separately....all to the point where I completely abandoned WEN CCs.

So, I agree to try smaller versions (the packettes, maybe) before investing in a gallon.

It sells because most people realize that is a terribly irrational way of thinking The way the gallon is priced means you basically get 4 32oz bottles for the price of 3 (which is terrific if you would have bought 4 bottles anyway). If you don't like the idea of shelling it all out at once, making the purchase on EP allows you to make those smaller payments and still take advantage of the "cheaper in the long run" price. Paying less for something you would have bought anyway always makes sense.

My husband has that irrational way of thinking. He would rather pay $2 per item at a gas station, than $0.25 per item at Costco. He uses these items regularly.

Yep, I am all about the value of a dollar, so I will definitely buy in bulk for items I know I will use.

HonnyBrown- that reminds me of a (semi) joke I read somewhere years ago about the way men and women shop-

Women will spend $1 on an item worth $2 that they don't need.

Men will spend $2 on an item worth $1 that they do need.

My hubby isn't quite as bad as yours, he will shop at Sam's LOL. But he doesn't seem to know how to comparison shop and I haven't been able to teach him in 17 years. I have made a little progress, but very little.
