I've received emails on all three of my addys telling me to log in through it to access my Chase account and update my username and password. I don't have a Chase account. I forwarded all emails to abuse@chase.com.

All banks will issue a security alert when they are part of a phishing scheme, which this appears to be.

I opened my app after an update and saw a message about fraud associated with Chase accounts. This was the first I've heard of it (nothing in the media).

If you have a Chase card, log on or call them to find out what's going on.

And, as always, with any account, do regular checks to make sure there are no unauthorized charges.

I got this message, too, when I logged in to check my balance.

I don't have a credit card with them, but I do have a checking account there. I never write checks, but, I have a debit card. This is actually more of a secondary account for me, I use it primarily, if i'm traveling. I'll keep an eye on it, and no, I haven't heard anything on the news, either.

The Target and Home Depot credit cards frauds made national news. eBay and Michael's didn't. And now Chase.

I wonder what other companies?

Chase didn't give details of what happened; they just said it was a cyber attack and they have not detected any fraudulent activities.

Chase is pretty good about these issues. When Target's cyber attack happened last Christmas, they sent me an email almost immediately and said they were sending me a new card with a different account number (I had bought some things at Target during that timeframe).

got a fraud phone call, saying that the next day 1000 dollars was being charged to my paypal account on my chase card. I don't have a paypal account. I asked them what number was being used on the chase card because there are a lot of chase visa cards from different companies so what one are you talking about. They gave me a four digit number and I said not mine. they hung up. I called my chase accounts and let them know.

Most of my chase cards are expired and no new one issued. The one I have has an alert on it. I called paypay and they said my old account has been closed, yet they still send me e mail.

Normally I don't answer my phone and let the machine pick up the call and usually get a click, but for some reason I did. Have been keeping a close eye on all accounts.

Yes, I've been checking for several days! There was something in the media that alerted me - maybe Morgan Chase..... Anyway, there was a message on my account asking that we watch carefully and reminding us that notifying Chase will absolve us of financial responsibility.

What I haven't seen anywhere is evidence the hackers have used what they stole - yet!

Can I say I hate thieves!

ETA: The last link I can remember clicking on was right here on these forums!

what bothers me these days is that credit card companies will not tell you where your information was hacked from if the company who alerted them doesn't want it known. I think it should be our right to know from what company (-ies) our information was stolen (or potentially stolen) from. Only if it gains national news, like target or home depot, do we know or if your card was actually used but "just" information potentially stolen due to a hack, they are not required to tell you. I should be allowed to know what merchants I am shopping from where my information was not secured!
