Vinylux Manicure Cost?

My salon charges an extra $3 for a Vinylux mani. I cannot understand why, the polish does not cost any more than other brands, and it takes the tech less time to do since there is no base coat. I just feel like it is just a gimmick for more money on their part. Anyone else pay more for it? I will buy my own on ebay if I want to continue with it. Thanks.

My salon charges $5 more if you use their Vinylux polishes and top coat. If you bring your own it's the same price as a regular manicure or pedicure.

I was told they pay more for for CND products, even with professional discounts.

You have to use the Vinylux top coat and it cures under regular light within 3-4 minutes. For me it lasts a full 2 weeks without chips, but I'm putting it on acrylic nails. Even OPI chips and wears off at the tips after a few days.

It won't damage your nails like a gel mani - it's just a longer-lasting regular nail polish. In my area I can only buy it at one beauty supply or from my nail tech.

Now, they added all kinds of charges to a pedi depending on each service they perform, even for nothing special. So, a V mani in my salon is $16. I pay $13, but I only have one color so far, if I like it I will buy more for myself, and a new topcoat too. The one I have is getting old. I just wrote to CND and asked them if it was OK to add some polish thinner to V, my nail tech was afraid to do it.

My salon does not charge any more for a Vinylux mani, in fact my tech says the Vinylux polish is cheaper at the supply store ($4.99). IT is a vinyl polish that consistently lasts me 10-12 days without chips and is removed like regular polish. Love it!

Living Social & Groupon both always have great Mani and pedi deals (just look for local deals in your area). They are usually at least 50% off normal pricing so even if they add a few dollars for Vinylux polishes, it will still end uup being a great deal. And if you do have your own polishes then probably no extra anyway. I always check for great deals on those type of services.

I LOVE the Vinylux polishes. They are the only ones that do not discolor my own natural nails, even when I use their darkest shades. I buy them locally at $9.95 a bottle and I do my own toes/pedi. Salons in my area DO charge more for V, costing about $5 more than the regular manis. I get at least 10 days of wear for a mani, and at least one month for toes.
