Lets talk about FIG

I am thinking about trying FIG however I am a bit worried about the scent. How bad is it? My son has a Korres fig shower gel while it's not my favorite I don't mind the smell. If anyone has both is the wen similar?

Fig is awful to me, but not intolerable. The benefits make it worth using. For the first few months, I held my breath when I used it. Now, it's grown on me.

Yeah, it's awful, it smells like cherry cough syrup. I doubt the Korres shower gel has menthol in it which is what gives the Fig CC the cough syrup smell. Figs smell great on their own. The problem isn't the figs themselves. I still used it for over a year as my second cleanse most of the time. Now that I don't need that level of moisture as much I just use it occasionally.

I'm not crazy about the smell, I don't think it is as strong as POM ( which I like). I usually use POM and FIG together (FIG in the ponytail). It is ok.

The smell doesn't bother me, although, I don't need to use it all of the time. I just use it occasionally, when I need the additional moisture. I would imagine that I am like most Wenners and have a variety of Wen cc's and use different formulas depending on my hair needs. Even when I used regular shampoo and conditioner, I had a couple of different selections in my shower and used different formulas depending on my hair needs.

Fig and Pom smell very similar to me. Fig has a sweeter scent than Pom. Pom is a little more tart, if that makes sense. I also smell the menthol a little more in the fig. It does smell a little like cherry cough syrup, but it smells okay to me.

I didn't purchase Fig for the longest time because of the smell. Now that I have it, I cannot even notice it anymore. I sometimes add a pump of TT for the benefits and I really like it that way. I agree with others. The benefits are fantastic and could be easily used with a pump or two of something you enjoy. (TT, 613, BGT)

Yes, the Fig does have that cough syrup smell, but after a couple of uses, I began to like it...kind of an aromatherapy thing while cleansing your hair. I used to use the Fig only around the time I'd get a color service and/or highlights, but now I'm using it a little more often.

I didn't mind the smell. Not my favorite in terms of scent or performance but I don't recall the scent being overly strong or unpleasant. Now the TT, on the other hand......

I absolutely LOVE the smell of the Fig. Not everybody does though, as you can see by other people's comments. Some people say it smells like cherry cough syrup but I disagree. It's very pungent, so if you don't care for strong scents than you'll want to steer clear of the Fig. The Pomegranate is similar in smell but not as pungent, so that could be a good alternative choice for you.

Pom smells wonderful compared to Fig, but sadly it doesn't perform the same on my hair so it's not a substitute.

I am Ultra sensitive to scent but the fig does not bother me. and I have been known not to use something if I can't handle the smell. I certainly would not wear it as perfume but it does not offend me and it does wonders for my dry curly hair!

Okay, here's my two cents for what it's worth. If you're really sensitive to smells, I mean if they REALLY bother you then I would give it a second thought but if a smell that is distasteful to you is just annoying then I would give it a try.

I love the scent of Fig and use it every cleanse. I would use it for the performance even if I didn't like the scent, it's not an issue with me. I'm not someone who gags at things - guess being raised on a farm has something to do with that . I don't understand being "afraid" of a scent. If you need the moisture, buy a 16 oz bottle and try it. As you can tell by the responses you get everytime you ask about fig, everyone's sense of smell is different. No one can tell you if you will like it or not.

Ok I thought the POM was very strong so maybe I'll try the FIG is something small not a whole kit. Thank you all

To me fig smells like bird poop. I am not trying to stir the pot but that is what the smell reminds me of. I should know for I own 6 parrots lol

I like the oils but the fig oil is worse than the conditioner. and once I purchased the fig oil it smelled so bad the odor seeped thew the package and my apartment office smelled it. They called me at work to pick it up asap for it stank up the office. i was so embarrassed and sent it back.

I don't have any issue with the scent of FIG. To me, POM smells more like cherry cough syrup than FIG does but I can use them both without any problem. I definitely need moisture and FIG is my go to -- I use some with every cleanse. But I always mix so maybe that's a factor in the scent not bothering me.

I use sometimes and don't really mind the smell. If you don't like the smell, try mixing it with something else like BGT. I got that tip from someone when the Fig alone was too moisturizing and BGT alone wasn't moisturizing enough. That took care of the problem and the smell was wonderful!

Do not fear the Fig. Like others have said, I don't even notice the smell and couldn't tell you what it smells like if you ask me. Same with SAM.

I am picky about smells but this one doesn't bother me at all (I could not finish the original seasonals set fast enough because they all smelled like Play Doh to me and I really think POM is too sweet and too strong in the oil. Right now I am over the Josie Maran tinted moisturizer because it has some funky citrus smell going on that is annoying when you first squirt it out and I could not deal with the old BE moisturizer at 5 am because of the smell).

I am allergic to the Fig extract, so I have to use it sparingly. It is my favorite formula but it doesn't like me :*(
