Shawn and prayers?

I was tuning in for Tuesday Night Beauty and heard Pat say "Our thoughts and prayers are with Shawn who will be back Sept. 2"---did I miss something? Pat seemed sweet and not overly concerned, but I was wondering about the "prayer" part...

She posted on facebook that she was pregnant and had a miscarriage at 5 mos. So terribly sad for her & her family. She does need our prayers.

Oh my gosh---that happened to me years ago... I feel so bad for her. I don't read the blogs, and had no idea, although I did think she was pregnant.

And what the heck is going on with this board...took me three tries for post to go through and then did not have access to the board for a long while....maybe it's the weather...

I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. My prayers go out to her.

It might be nice for all to simply wish Shawn well instead of lobbing recriminations at one another. When it gets right down to it, as far as her announcement, all Shawn had to say to address her seemingly unplanned and protracted absence was that she was experiencing a non-life threatening health issue. That would more than likely have quelled the incessant inquiries. It wasn't incumbent on her to share anything she didn't want to share...

I wasn't watching TNB, and wasn't aware of the speculation. But I'm sorry to hear of anybody going through that. :-( I wish her healing, and I think if she felt like those on her FB were "friends" she wanted to confide in, she'll appreciate the support and caring.

ETA: I just read her blog, and so I'd better amend my opinion that she'll appreciate an outpouring of caring and concern. Please go read it so you don't inadvertently make it even tougher on her. :-(

ETA again: Not talking to you, Kate, just more of a PSA. :-)

I have been through a similar twice and know the last thing Shawn needs right now are comments from anyone ; the only things she needs are prayers, encouragement, and positive comments. Best to say nothing at all if you can't.

I didn't read the blog yet (trying to find it!) but I just assumed that she would not want the constant "I'm so sorry Shawn" posts. When this happens to a woman, most need to deal with it privately and it makes it much harder to deal with it when you are inundated with sorry for your loss posts. I know people mean well (well, some ) but just don't. At least that is my personal experience and those of people close to me.

I'm sure Pat was told what to say. She's been around long enough not to make statements that aren't scripted. I would hope Shawn signed off on it as well. I'm glad Shawn won't be back for a while to put some distance between the announcement. Hopefully, everyone will respect her wishes.

I have also been through the same and it is very tough!! And people will say the darndest things...I know they meant well, but some of the comments were just not appropriate at this time! As you stated...best not to comment!

I totally agree with HAPPYDAZE and every post she made since her first one here.

I had posted something similar at the time of all of the comments, speculations, gossip, etc. and got a lot of rude remarks from people.

I am so very, very sorry this has happened, but I have already prayed that the Lord will restore her and allow her and Joe to have a baby if it is His will.

I don't think this is the place or a reason for all who have been through this to tell about themselves. The focus here is for prayer for Shawn. We know how often it happens to others, as does she. That wouldn't comfort me at all while being as devastated as she did.

I pray her faith will guide her through at this time.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her. My mother lost twin boys at 7 months gestation before my 2 sisters & I were born. My parents had even picked out names for them, Daryl and David. She told me about them, believe it or not, after I had seen Disney's original The Parent Trap movie in the early 1960's. I told her I thought it would be neat if I had a twin, and she said I had identical twin brothers, but they were in Heaven.
