Wish I knew how to insert photos from my iPad, but hopefully the link will last ((you'll actually have to cut and paste).

It shows twins and the difference between the smoker and non-smoker, the sun lover and the one who was moderate, and one who used an "anti aging" product and one who didn't. Interesting!!

http://www.youbeauty.com/skin/genes-vs-routine-how-much-of-skin-aging-can-you-control?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Newsletter%20Full%20List&utm_campaign=Top%20Story%207%2F31%2F14&utm_content=Final

ETA: I've tried 3 times to cut and re-paste that link but the "box" keeps messing it up. Hope you can access it.

NCN's DNA serum is also suppose to support the telomeres as well. I've always been curious about it. I just haven't researched if anything topical can truly support telomeres in the way that these products claim. Would you happen to know the ingredients of the Isomers one?

Any further info on what "how we act" entails? How do you interpret this?

Genes also respond with the environment that they are in - its called epigenetics here is an article

Also genes are not destiny - there is a gene called the "warrior gene" that can make people function differently in times of stress (more cool under pressure) but they may also tend to be more aggressive. I saw a documentary and they tested navy seals, bikers, gang bangers and Buddhist monks for the gene. The group with the highest frequency of the gene was the MONKS - so even though they have the gene they did not display those traits.

As far as this topic goes, the biggest thing that ages people is the sun (even more than the smokes) so if you stay out of the sun or wear protection daily you are going to get less damage than someone is outside daily without sun protection. The "damage" to skin is things like larger pores, wrinkles, loss of collagen etc.

I found this cool article where they actually studied twins and compared how old they lookd - it has pictures too. Perfect example of lifestyle resulting in differences.

http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0008021

But reading your post reminded me of a news story I heard yesterday that a study showed infants pick up and "feel" their mother's fear. If I'm relaying this accurately, it's so the mother can teach the offspring how to react in times of fear. I'm going to really look it up rather than blathering on not sure of what I'm talking about. :-)

Thanks again.

On 7/31/2014 HappyDaze said:
NCN's DNA serum is also suppose to support the telomeres as well. I've always been curious about it. I just haven't researched if anything topical can truly support telomeres in the way that these products claim. Would you happen to know the ingredients of the Isomers one?

I haven't located it yet -- her site seriously needs updating. Plus, I keep getting sidetracked, but eventually...

I did Google "telemeres" and of course glanced at an article that talked about "unregulated may cause cancer" and just took a break. Overload. But definitely something to look into.

Of course good genes are a HUGE factor, I've seen people 20 years old who already have extremely pronounced lines in their faces. And in my high school class, there was a teenage boy who was already balding & had some gray hair!

But we can lessen or soften the look by what's been mentioned above.

On the other hand, younger-looking twin Jeanne (left) has made it a point to get as little UV exposure as possible. Age: 61

1st thing I noticed.....all the "indoor" girls were a little heavier. Extra weight will eliminate SOME of the small wrinkles. "Routine" will take care of the external skin....DNA takes care of the sub-surface skin & muscles. If your Mom had jowls, there's a good chance you will too...no matter how many $$$ you spend on skincare.

The luminosity & texture of the outside skin is what keeps you young looking.
