Ok, so the first drink that I made was a bomb

This seems like such a silly thing, but here goes. I used a regular sized blender. First step is to add 3 oz. of berries and puree. Well, 3 oz. of berries wasn't enough to even reach the level where the spinning blades are. So I had to keep trying to push them around with a spoon for the berries to come in contact with the blades. Still not very successful at achieving a nice puree. Did you guys use some sort of handheld blending device instead?? I didn't realize a regular blender might not work. Or can these be made in advance in larger quantities?

Second "issue". The organic coconut oil that I found is in solid form. I tried adding it that way into the blender. Same problem. Not enough of anything in the blender to actually blend, lol. Should I have melted the coconut oil? I couldn't even drink what I came up with. It was a semi mashed up mess of berries and globs of coconut oil that resembled Crisco floating around. Unless I missed it somewhere, Dr. Perricone doesn't mention the state of the oil, so I just assumed I would be shopping for a liquid, yet all I could find was a solid. Everything I could find while googling indicated that room temp coconut oil is indeed a solid. Not sure if I'd be destroying any beneficial properties by melting it down?? But trying to use it as a solid was really gross

Ironically, the one thing that would have solved my problem would have been adding and blending the 6 oz. of liquid egg white protein (finally, enough ingredients to blend!). But Dr. P specifically advises to stir the liquid in and not blend or else it will become too foamy.

Am I just a big dope, or did anyone else experience these challenges??

Thanks a bunch!

Dawn
