Thanks! i won't use Emu oil (I avoid animal-derived ingredients) and i was thinking of my rosehip seed oil and argan oil. I have plenty of both of those.

I suppose it makes a difference where it's located and how old it is, but Retin-A was great for me.

The dermatologist prescribed the .1% for me after removing some facial moles. I had to wait until the stitches were removed and the scabs fell off, but you can't see one speck of where the moles once were.

thanks! That is what I keep reading, vitamin E is best for preventing/minimizing scars.

Once I kind of narrow down a few ideas of what I think I want to use, I will talk to my doctor about it to get her okay.

I don't know if Retin-A can be used on the stomach, but you might also ask your doctor about silicone sheets. I'm not sure if they're used for prevention or just to reduce an already existing scar.

I did see some information on those as well and it seems like they are used for preventing/reducing the scar. I don't really understand how they work but I'm going to read more about it.

HD, the best example I can give: I had the chicken pox as an adult. I used Vitamin E oil directly on the sores. The only marks that I have are in my mouth.

I've used it other times successfully, but that one is the most significant.

Helichrysum is supposed to be good for reducing/eliminating scars. But it is very expensive. Rose hip seed oil has that notoriety, as well.

oh I WISH I was that good! No, I bought it. It is called Andalou Naturals Moroccan beauty oil. I got it at Whole foods a few months ago when they were having a 40% off sale but iherb, drugstore, etc carry it too. It is nice, as it is a lighter oil. Works great on hair too.
