I used 613 for about a week but my hair did not like it! My ends look dry and brittle. How do I get my hair back to looking healthy and soft? I went back to using SAM, but is still looks a little dry. Would leaving SAM for a few hours help? Or should I get fig instead? Any suggestions would help!

You should buy the fig formula. If you are close to a Sephora you can buy the fig. Even though it is a bit more expensive than QVC, you aren't paying any shipping charges.

The CCs used as a leave-in treatment are supposed to be good too. And they are supposed to be used as a primer before putting the Remoist in your hair so I think it's safe to use them to improve the moisture in your hair. Sounds like what you need. Good luck!

Lots of deep treatments (I like coconut oil) and then leave a tiny bit of remoist on the ends as a leave in. you may just need to go and get a little trim to start anew if it doesn't improve in awhile. Sorry that happened!

If my hair goes into what I call "protein overload", it always takes a few cleanses before my hair gets back to normal. Just give it some time and it should start to get better. I get great results with the oils for adding moisture back to my hair.

Still newer to when so bear with me. I have a love/hate relationship with my 613. I know I need this formula overall but I never know when it is too much until it is too late and then it is bad hair day. I don't use it everyday but I do use it here and there and sometimes it is great and then all of a sudden it isn't. I guess I am asking how does one know when you have had enough of the protein BEFORE you go overboard? My hair seems to change so much one day to the next on what it needs. I call it MOOD hair! lol

Do you say you need it because your hair responds well to it in small doses? Or do you say you need it because Chaz says everyone needs it? :-) I say this because not all hair types respond well to the additional amino acids in 613 (or in BGT, or in the seasonals).

If your hair responds well to it in small doses, then only use it occasionally. Maybe try adding a pump or two of 613 to your second cleanse once or twice weekly. Don't use it any more often than that, pretty simple. Although, that might be easier said than done, because it smells sooooo good!!

My hair responded well to 613 when it was first introduced (I was using Wen on and off at that point). Now that I've used Wen exclusively for over two years, I can only use it occasionally (can't even tell you the last time I used it). My hair loves TT, CA, SAM and LAV. I will occasionally use BGT or a seasonal or 613. I actually use 613 more as a facial mask than I do on my hair, lol.

I said "I know I need this formula overall" basically because it is one of the first CC's I started with along with TT.

I decided on 613 and TT due to my research on the products, my hair type and hair issues and not because Chaz said everyone needs 613. :-)

They both seemed to work great for my hair especially the 613 at first but now it seems I can't use 613 as often so therefore I don't use it as often but I still feel it need it at times.

The TT is always my first cleanse and I have since added SHP (love) as my 2nd or 613 but not as often lately with the 613. I realize the seasonals have the amino acids as well but not as much as 613. Tried the kids apple but that was very drying and not good for me.

I guess I was asking how do we know when our hair has had enough protein/aa before we overdose it for lack of a better word because when I need 613 my hair responds perfectly and when I don't it seems dry and like straw but I don't know this until AFTER I use it.

Does this explanation help clarify my question about 613?

Thanks for the input!

Pink

I used 613 for practically the whole month of June and my hair was great. All of a sudden one day - then the next time I cleansed my hair - it was dry and static-y - very flyaway. I switched to tea tree and SAM and it was fine again.

I would love to know also how often I should be using 613 - it's just trial and error I guess.

Also can you overdo/overload on the moisturizing CCs then need the 613 again? It's so confusing.

Frannie,

My concerns exactly as well! Sometimes what works great one day or days just doesn't the next and it is very confusing as to now why or what to add or delete from the routine. I realize weather has a lot to do with how my hair responds but it can't be the entire issue.

Pink

I'm determined to keep using it though. How I wish I hadn't given up on it 8 years ago - surely my hair would be in a lot better shape today. Even after using it 6 weeks it's so much thicker and fuller. If I have a bad hair day I'll wear a ponytail or put it ""up."" I'm convinced it's good for my hair.
