The lather demo used on philosophy shows

Lather is harsh and drying to skin. Sodium laurel sulfate used to make foam. It does not make soap clean better, it is added to soap to make foam. Why do they act like foam is so good?

They also pour a lot into that bowl to make it look like it is way more then it is, LOL

And I'm not sure why they do this, as you really don't need much to make a lot of bubbles - just 1 pump from a 32 oz works for me.

1 pump makes so many luxurious bubbles! It lathers so nicely. I think that's what they are showing you....

. Oh no, if you watch they pour a boat load in, way more then a pump. I gave several of their soaps and dont have any issues with dryness.

Dara used 7 pumps from a 32oz bottle today and those are larger pumps! I never have gotten very good bubbles in my bath water with Philosophy....but I do get lots of bubbles when I use it on a poof to scrub with.

Thank you! I've been feeling the same way. It's a total turnoff. I could understand if they were selling bubble bath but I don't understand the point for shower gel. There have been a couple scent I've tempted by but the suds bowl makes me think dry skin

Thank you! I've been feeling the same way. It's a total turnoff. I could understand if they were selling bubble bath but I don't understand the point for shower gel. There have been a couple scent I've tempted by but the suds bowl makes me think dry skin

The item isn't only a shower gel. It's a 3 in 1: shower gel, bubble bath, and shampoo. :-) I only use the product with showers, but I know lots of Philosophy fans use the 3 in 1s for bath, shower, and washing their hair. :-)

They always use alot of product for the demos. I haven't experienced dry skin because of the bubbles. You may want to look at WEN line, they don't have bubbles.

That always annoys me when they pour all of that product into the bowl, because it's not needed. I use 1-2 pumps from the 32oz. size bottle when I shower and it's more than enough lather and bubbles.

Oh, ok. I am a shower girl and as I mentioned above I always get more than enough lather and bubbles which I like to see when I shower with the poof. I don't take baths so perhaps that's how many you need to get bubbles in the tub?

I have been using their shower gel for a long time now, and I like it. But I cancelled my auto delivery awhile back and when I run out, I may try something store bought. I think I can find something I like just as well for less money. I like the Philosophy scents, but can barely smell them anymore. My skin has never felt dry after showering with Philosophy.

I noticed that as well. I thought....what are you doing? Why so many? Putting one or two pumps on a poof makes tons of bubbles. I would think the non Philosophy customer would think....it takes all of that to make bubbles? I would think that would decrease sales rather than increase them.

As far as bath water, it does seem to take a bit more to get bubbles.

It's for visual effect. They have to SHOW something. They can't just talk their way into sales. I gave up on Philospy years ago. Perhaps it's a better product now but when I tried it several years ago, I was greatly disappointed. The fragrance that they go on and on and on about.....just wasn't there. The scent was weak and didn't leave any scent whatsoever on my body. And it didn't foam up. I wanted luxurious bubbling foam and I didn't get it. At the time, I didn't know that was just for visual effect. I remember there was a Sugar Cookie (I think) scent that Lisa R sold me on. How it scented your bathroom with smell of fresh baked sugar cookies....well.....I must have received a dud....because that wasn't what I got....LOL

Because it might not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. You didn't mention which product it was, but many of the 3-in-1 products it contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is different.

It is considered gentle and effective as typically used to formulate cosmetic products (most typically facial or body cleansers and shampoos). Despite the name similarity, sodium laureth sulfate is NOT the same as sodium lauryl sulfate. I previously used the poofs (for many years), but then I found out about the Salux Cloth! Now, there's no going back to anything else, I'm too spoiled by my Salux!
