I turned 62 last month. In May, I treated myself to Botox and Restylane. I don't remember the exact amount for each. But I am VERY happy with the results. Botox usually lasts me about eight months. I had Botox on my forehead and 11 lines. He also put Restylane in the 11 lines. I had some Restylane under my eyes since I have bags from allergies. The results are awesome. I am saving up for a "touchup" in December. I've tried every cream you can think of. Creams don't work!! I didn't have really BAD lines and wrinkles. By the way, everything looks natural. My forehead moves etc. not like some people who don't show any expressions. I would recommend it. Restylane works well with lines above the lips. I don't have lines above the lips or eyes. People still think I'm in my 40's but my mother who is 82 has NO lines at all. Go figure.

Does it also work for the neck?

I ask because so many women get it and/or fillers-lasers-etc. for their face, but some of their necks can make them look their chronological age or older.

Nice that it works for you. 8)

For 62, I think I look pretty good for my age. I amfanatical about my skin care and I think because I do take good care I have fewer wrinkles. That said, the lip lines above my lips REALLY bothers me. I can handle the crow's feet. I feel like because of the wrinkles over my lip it looks like facial hair and the make up doesn't settle right. Has anyone had Botox in that area?

I've never had Botox, but have researched it. I'd be leery of using it around the lips. Botox is used off label in that area, meaning it's been studied and FDA approved for the eye and forehead areas, but not the lip area. Also, the numbness on your upper lip can affect your speech and eating. If you do decide to have it done, please go to a reputable MD!

There's a product called Voluma which might work on those nose to mouth crevices that have resulted from fat loss. It might ""lift"" the cheek area up enough to lessen them.

But a Plastic Surgeon or Cosmetic Derm knows far better than I do. I've just read to make sure that the person you're going to uses a variety of products and has been trained in each. And read reviews!

I would not just go to any doctor. I think it does make sense about using a filler in that area and not Botox.

I get Botox on my 11s and love it, however like the others here have said, I got Juevederm around my mouth area. On another note, I have had lower back pain for about 10 years and have had lots of treatments and meds and nothing ever gave relief. Last trip to my pain management doc and he have me some Botox shots in my lower back, Boom, haven't felt any pain since getting it a month ago and it's supposed to last about 8 weeks. I know off topic but wanted to rave.
