Thanks for he responses! It does seem like a lot of leave in but when I used the SHP yesterday as a leave in I only used about a pump or less but still had to deal with fighting the tangles and such. Today was so better with the more pumps so maybe I will experiment with a pump to 2 pumps or somewhere in between.

Newer to Wen. I have the best hair results today so far. I used TT for first cleanse and SHP for second just like yesterday but I left 2 to 3 full pumps of the SHP as my leave in on soaking wet hair and combed it in to the ends. Then as it was damp and air drying I used SHP RTM as I was hand styling and shaping using a wide toothed comb. No blow drying (never do this) or heat appliances today as power went out this morning for some stupid reason. My hair is super soft, curls are not frizzy and a lot of shine! Only thing I noticed is it took LONGER to air dry probably due to a lot more leave in...... How much leave in CC do you all usually use? My hair is just past my shoulders in length. Thanks Pink

Yikes, 2-3 full pumps of CC as a leave-in would be WAY too much for me. I use a pea size and that's plenty for me. I'm sure it's different for everyone, depending on their hair texture, condition, length, etc., but 2-3 full pumps sounds like an awful lot.

I don't usually use any CC as a leave in, as I found it really doesn't do anything for my hair. However, with the SHP CC, I do occasionally use it as a leave in, just at the very ends for protection. However, I only use a tiny bit, not even a full pump, more like a pea size, if that, and I have long hair. Do whatever works for you but that amount of CC as a leave in seems kind of alot? Maybe kind of work down from there to see if you could get the same results with using less?

My hair is past my shoulders, wavy/curly, dry and frizz-prone. I use Fig +something else to wash most days and then use 1 pump of Sweet Almond Mint +4 drops of SAM oil as my leave-in. I can use 2 pumps of CC for a leave-in, but then I don't add the oil. The oil seems to help my waves/curls stay clumped together better for more defined waves instead of being a zillion 8-strand waves. Over the leave-in, I scrunch in Curl Keeper, which really helps prevent frizz and offers a light hold, and, on very humid days, scrunch in a Ouidad get (Climate Control or Curl Quencher) over that to keep frizz at bay all day long.

I blot dry with an old t-shirt and usually air dry or use a dryer with a diffuser bowl for 2-3 minutes at most. I don't know if the leave-in is the 'secret', but it definitely makes a difference in my hair. I've used a leave-in conditioner off and on since the 80's, but I've been absolutely consistent about it for the last 15 years and my waves and curls have been much happier.

During the winter months I use 1 & 1/2 - 2 pumps of Fig (from a 32 oz bottle) as my leave in CC, applied to the mid shaft and ends of my hair. In the warmer months I can cut this down to between 1/2 - 1 pump from the 32 oz bottle. I have bra strap length, layered, curly, fine hair, but I have a lot of it.

Find what works for you and keep doing it!

I only use about a dime or nickle-sized amount. I used more in the past, but I have found that it can be drying for my hair to use too much cc as a leave-in. I have natural, curly hair that is just past my shoulders. I always air-dry and never use heat-styling tools on my hair.

Since I have started using the DIY RTM recipe that I found on the forum, I dont use cc as a leave-in all of the time like I used to. The DIY RTM has cc in it and I have had much success with it.

If 2-3 pumps is working for you then go for it. Just be aware that it might work for a few days, but then it might start to make your hair dry. Just have to play with the amount to get it right. That is how I figured that a dime/nickle-sized amount would work best for me. If you use it for a week or so and all is good, then you found something that will work for you!

I'm pretty consistent with using Fig CC as my leave-in. I also use a lot (a full pump from the 32 ounce bottle for short hair). My hair drinks it up, my grays are tame and my curls are well defined and very juicy.

I guess using the SC and mousse will help with the tangles? I am hoping these products work to provide hair manageability vs. hair control. When I think of hair styling products I can't help but to think of stuff from years ago that cause stiffness or stickiness. I want hair softness, silkiness, shine, detangling and just general manageability as opposed to HOLD if you know what I mean. Hoping the SC and mousse do this for my hair. Pink

Pink

If you're consistently using the SHP, that may be the reason why you are having an issue with tangles.

All of the seasonals have the "added extra's", which means that they have a lot more protein/amino acids than the core formulas, but not as much as the 613. It could be that your hair doesn't need the extra aminos, which could be why you are experience a lot of tangling. I get the same issue when I use the BGT too often. I love it, but my hair doesn't need the extra goodies all the time. Try using a different CC instead of the SHP for a few cleanses and see if that helps.

Wen styling products are very different to any other products that I've used before. I always use the styling cream and VTS with a few drops of oil (which you may not need) after I've put in my CC leave in. Once my hair is dry you wouldn't know that I have any products in my hair at all. I have natural movement and bounce, my curls are fuller and don't frizz, my hair holds it's style really well and has great, natural looking volume too. In fact, I find that when I started using the styling cream, it left my hair feeling a lot lighter and fuller than when I was just using the CC leave in only

I can't comment on the mousse, as I haven't tried it yet.

jaxs, if I remember correctly, he said 1/2-1 pump for a leave-in. I don't remember him mentioning a length.

A leave-in really depends on your hair.

Thanks everyone for the input. I guess I will just have to experiment with the SC and mousse and see what happens. I wish it were here already as I am anxious to try them!

Pink

Pink, if 2 pumps of cc as leave in is working for your hair, keep doing it. Everyone's hair is different. And everyone's hair changes. What you are doing now as you first start WEN will be different after several months of using WEN as your hair gets healthier. Multiple surgeries were devastating on my hair even after years of using WEN, but the great thing about WEN is you will have the tools and knowledge to make the adjustments you need.

You said you wanted softness, shine, and manageability rather than hold - that's the reason I use WEN. I wanted healthy moisturized hair that would fall back into a natural style. That's what will happen with WEN and a haircut that works with your hair. You won't need super hold to force your hair to stay.

You're doing great, you're seeing your hair look better - just keep doing what you're doing!!

Thanks okiebug for the encouragement! This is definitely a learning curve for me. I am not good at trying new things but needed to with this hair so here I am now in the wen pool! Pink
