topic Do hairdressers know what a 1/4" is? in Beauty

I went for a haircut yesterday...angled over my ears, and long on the top....kind of like a wedge type cut. I told the hd that I wanted 1/4" cut off the ends of the top. The top was one length, and not layered. While she's cutting, inch pieces are flying everywhere, and ended up being layered and too short to even part. I was speechless, paid my bill, and ran to my car. What took me months to grow, is now back to zero. I realize in hindsight, I should have blasted her then and there, but what good would it have done?? The hair's gone...I swear hairdressers only know how to cut a 1/2" off and just can't do anything less!!
