I do all the time. I have about four different shampoos and about 8 different conditioners. Just depends which I happen to pick up when I'm in the tub.

I always used a shampoo with its matching conditioner. Does anyone mix several shampoos together from multiple brands as well as their conditioners? just curious. I was at a beautybrands store and apparently they sold out of the shampoo I as looking for but they had tons of conditioner. I thought it was very odd. The sales lady stated many use the shampoo only and use a different conditioner. I found this odd as well. Have you seen good benefits with mixing? And I am not referring to WEN. I am talking about drugstore/salon brands.

I mix and match a lot and I always have. I tend to use shampoo for color treated hair but I still have several bottle of Wen that I use as my conditioner. My daughter is worse. She washes with Head and Shoulders, applies Clairol Conditioner, then uses Wen hair mask and sometimes adds in Vidal Sassoon conditioner. I know she uses the mask on her ends because she has long hair. I also do not use the same shampoo every time I wash. I switch things around. Currently we have 4 shampoos open and 3 conditioners and 3 Wen for 4 people.

I guess I don't really give it much thought. I am currently using a diff brand shampoo and conditioner. It may start out as a pair, but I don't wear down the bottles evenly. When that happens, I use the one that's left with a new bottle.

I mix and match. I've always heard that shampoo & conditioner work best when paired, but I don't use them up at the same rate.

I'll go further -- when I have three shampoos with only a little left in the bottle, I combine them all into one bottle to save space. Horrors!

I may try that. I noticed my hair never seems to grow so I tried some strengthening shampoos but it was too drying. I may mix some of my redken diamond oil in it to see it it will haelp with the moisture part

It's been over 3 years since I stopped using shampoo/conditioner (WEN girl), but I remember that I would often have different brands for shampoo vs conditioner. But this was mostly because I would use the conditioner up at 3x the rate of the shampoo, and would have to buy more conditioner before the shampoo was used up. I had forgotten all about that until I read this thread, lol!

I never use the same shampoo 2 days in a row, I rarely match shampoo and conditioner brands and I love to combine sulfate free shampoo with a little hit of regular shampoo. I hope you didn't fall off your chair

Oh yes, I never match my shampoo with my conditioner. I buy drugstore shampoo with whatever manufacture coupon I have, usually, L'ore'al Hair Care Advance. Then "customize" my conditioner with two different conditioners and jojoba oil. So far so good!

Tho' that Pantene Pro-V Colorseal Conditioner that is in the Age-Defy box hair color is absolutely the bomb! Amazing conditioner! Wish they would sell that separately because it is a stand-alone product and I would buy it instantly.

I don't use shampoo, I co-wash but in the past, I tried to use the same shampoo and conditioner. Probably just because that's how my mind works. I match and coordinate ever thing. But since conditioner runs out before the shampoo, it wasn't all possible to stick with one brand. Now I pretty much stick with one brand for my conditioner, my hair color and all my styling products. I like to think they work together.

I dont normally mix shampoos. The only one I will mix in every once in awhile is a clarifying shampoo since it makes my hair like straw when I use it on its own. Otherwise, no. I use to have the matching set of shampoo and conditioner and no longer keep to sets since it takes me so long to use conditioner. Plus, I just recently stopped using conditioner. I only use a leave-in now.

I use Pert Shampoo because it has the conditioner built right in - no need to do a second step. Important when living for the summer in a camper as we have only a 5 gallon hot water tank here. I started using pert because of this but loved it and have used it for years now.

I use a color safe shampoo - Loreal I think - but only every 3 days, and when I do use it I put a couple pumps of WEN along with the shampoo. Seems to be less harsh that way. In between days I just use WEN, like a conditioner, not a cleanser. I don't get my hair really dirty every day, but do need to take a shower every morning to wake up, hence just the conditioner approach.

I can't use a rinse out conditioner, it's too heavy for my hair. I use a small amount of leave-in conditioner. I think lots of people do this & that's why shampoo sells out before conditioner. Yes, I mix a few different types of shampoo. I have some shampoos that are too moisturizing/heavy for my taste, so I add some of Paul Mitchell's shampoo 1 w/ just about every shampoo.
