Two that work great for me are: Suave Moroccan Infusion Color Care Shampoo (and matching conditioner) and Redken Color Extend Shampoo (and matching conditioner). I exercise daily, so I wash my hair daily. Both the Suave and Redken poos and conditioners protect my hair color and keep my hair really healthy, shiny, and moisturized.

I also installed an inexpensive ($20) water filter on my showerhead, which helps to filter out chlorine and other chemicals in water that tend to strip hair of color faster and can cause dry skin.

I don't know if you mean that WEN faded your color, or it didn't work for you otherwise.

In any event, I don't mind low sulfates. I never get color fade. Some Ss & Cs that work well for me is Suave (w/ either the macadamia nut oil or argan, but none of the other Suaves I've ever tried) and I really do like Carol's Daughter Monoi, though I can see that may not be for everyone.

What is going to happen is new growth, and it is hard to prevent that!

I would just curtail using hot water/too warm on my hair, and use some kind of heat protection in blow drying. Heat protection =again, my hair seems to love macadamia nut oil. Also sesame....any of the oils.

I just have normal hair! No scalp or other problems, save for new growth that comes in gray.

Have you tried more than one WEN formula? There are quite a few different formulations for different hair types. I was using Lavender a few years ago before I realized that it wasn't right for my dry hair, so I stopped using it because it didn't really work for me. I'm about to try WEN again but Fig this time for my dry frizzy hair. I'm hoping it'll work.

Just sayin' if you're basing your opinion on one formula, you may just need a different one.

No, I've tried several Wen formulas. They didn't fade my color. It did seem to take longer in the shower and use more water, but maybe I'm wrong on that.

I understand, it is much more time consuming. At this point it'll be worth it if it helps my hair.

Carol's Daughter makes some really nice products, but they are pretty expensive. HSN has good deals though if you're interested.

You might want to look into JASON products. Lots of natural ingredients. I used the hemp shampoo before WEN but they have numerous formulations to target your needs.

Alba Botanica is another ""natural based"" brand I have used back in the day.

I use Biolage Colorcare. I alternate between that and Wen because just Wen eventually builds up no matter how well I rinse in cool water. I find that Biolage keeps the color as good or better than Wen. I also take it along on trips--as Wen is difficult to bring along in a carryon due to TSA regs. (I know, you can use the trip packs, but it's just as easy to fill a travel ounce with Biolage.)

I think the best thing you can do to save your color is was your hair less than daily, use less heat on it to style and keep your hair out of the sun.

Basically anytime you wash you are fading it a little (I don't use Wen and am not speaking about Wen bc I have never tried it)

I have gotten very good results from Nuance (it is at CVS) the honey shampoo is the one for color treated hair.

On a separate note, I got a sample of Carol's Daughter Sacred Tiara Styling Cream in my Ipsy bag and it is very nice. Just a tiny amount (small pea size rubbed together on my palms) leaves my long hair more tamed, conditioned and it smells wonderful. I usually let my hair air dry and I still get a nice result. It looks very Wen-ish. That brand is at Target and HSN.
