I can't use a few products because I have a reaction to them, either sneezing, , burning, itching, redness or whatever, I wouldn't expect the company's to say they could cause those issues with some people.if they cause those problems, I just don't use them at all.

There seems to be a new post started weekly about how WEN has caused significant hair loss. While I am not a WEN user, it seems to me that Chaz needs to openly and clearly address this claim on air. There may be a logical reason for initial hair loss when you begin using this system, who knows? But doesn't it seem logical for him to openly address this with his QVC audience, or at least do a video about it and put it online?

It doesn't seem logical to me, as regardless of what he says, people will believe what they want to believe. People have allergic reactions to products all the time. My skin goes totally bonkers with Olay products, but I don't see Olay making statements about their products may cause severe adverse skin reactions.

Assuming there is any link at all (which is not proven), it seems like it would be an allergy issue - which Chaz has addressed by providing multiple types of formulas including a few with most of the known allergens removed like the Kids formulas.

Chaz acts like shampoo is SO SO TERRIBLY HORRIBLE. I know he is trying to convert people to his idea of not using soap to wash, but, shampoo is NOT HORRIBLE. Many many people use shampoo everyday and they have beautiful healthy hair and scalp. For a few, shampoo may not work well for them, for a few, WEN may not work for them. But, to say on every show he does that shampoo is the cause for bad hair is just a lie. It is a sales tactic. Nothing more.

He's selling his product, it doesn't work for everyone and if it doesn't work for you, return it.

If people started posting that they were growing horns out of their heads due to WEN, would you expect him to "address" that too? He has a limited amount of time to say what he has to say--why would he waste it talking about negatives?

If anyone here feels they've been so "damaged" by the product - please go out and get an attorney.

The bottom line is, for those who think their hair loss is caused by WEN, you have the burden of proving that - so go out and pay for the studies that prove it and present them. Sitting here on a message board wringing your hands over it does nothing to help.

Cristina Carlino who started Philosophy once said, "not every product is for everyone" and "if you have a bad reaction to something stop use immediately". People would have jumped on the forum to discuss his saying it could cause a reaction in a heartbeat if he had said this on air. People get ticked off due to the claims it is universally ok for all to use and the constant ignoring of the hair loss issues some people have. He could say for instance, "If you feel itching or have any bad reaction please stop use and see a doctor". Until he comes out and addresses it people who have had a reaction will continue to be ticked off. Personally, my Mom and Grandmother used shampoo and survived with beautiful hair so I think I'll live.

I have (in the past) also experienced some large amounts of hair loss. Thought it was the Wen too; but it was not. It was an allergic reaction I had due to an autoimmune issue I had and was unaware of (allergic to wheat). Had to give up wheat, (for health reasons, not for hair) and my hair is stronger, nails are strong and growing, and absolute zero hair loss. Just as others have been saying on here, it is probably an allergy or your diet, or thyroid, or something else that needs medical attention, not the Wen.

So I feel compelled to comment on this issue because, I lose hair. I have had alopecia most of my life. 7 years ago I went completely bald after the birth of my daughter. I have been in treatment for this auto-immune disorder for some time. I get injections of cortisone to help my scalp regrow hair about every 6 weeks. At this time, I have about 30% missing hair on my scalp. I have tried most if not all of the hair growth products on the market- from Rogain (ladies and mens) to Carols Daughter Monoi to Aveda Invati system, Nioxin and so forth. I have also taken many supplements like Biosil, Biotin, Silica, and more in addition to what the derm has prescribed. I have been in several genetic studies to develop a cure. Now I'm trying Wen.

I should start by saying, that most of the shampoos formulated for hair growth do not lather and many other brands offer zero sulfates. I started using Wen more than a month & 1/2 ago. I was in a period of hair loss, (hair goes through cycles of shed and growth). I was starting to get a little concerned, but what I have learned from years of this disorder is that hair responds over time. Meaning 2 things, 1) loss today reflects events from the last several months and 2) you have to give a product at least a 3 month go to recognize if it is working. I stuck with the SAM CC even though the first several weeks the loss was significant. After I heard raves about the Tea Tree oil for growth, I added it to my routine. Within 2 days the shed just stopped (still using SAM CC). Strange- I know. Now it could be that my shed cycle completed itself or there might just be something to this? I don't know for sure.

Personally, I would like Chaz to address this issue, because there are many other women like me. And to face hair loss head on might inspire him to develop a product particularly for hair loss concerns. I think he is on to something with his Tea Tree CC and oil myself (but this is just one persons humble opinion).

ps. I continued to use Wen through the shed because even with the loss, my hair never looked better with any other product. Oh and I am not a paid Wen spokes person Just someone who doesnt want to give up on having hair.

Anna M.

If anyone is experiencing hair loss I would expect the best solution is to visit a doctor. To just randomly blame hair products that you are using doesn't make sense. As many have already noted you may be allergic and can't use many skin care products. The same could apply to hair care products that you are using.

Has anyone thought about this:

Prior to using Wen, people used products that "repaired damage" or "gave the look of healthy hair." Those split ends were glued together. It's a temporary fix.

The Wen use starts. The temporary fixes stop. The glue gets washed away. Those split ends break off and the healthy hair (not "healthy looking") blossoms.

Just my opinion from my own hair. I don't have allergies that I pay attention to.

I think people need to read the ingredients deck. Hopefully you know what ingredients you can and can't use.

Should every vendor come on Q and list all of the "potential" problems? Perfumes may cause people to sneeze. Cosmetics and skin care could cause people to break out. And on and on it goes. Do we really need to have every "potential" concern brought up and addressed every single time he's on air? I don't think so.

I'm not saying the concerns aren't legitimate and that it doesn't happen to some, but I think the percentage is very small. And if someone does have a concern, call Chaz's salon and speak with them. Take the bottle to your dermatologist and show them the ingredients. Discuss this with your doctor.

On 6/13/2014 anonymousanonymous said:
On 6/13/2014 Buck-i-Nana said:
On 6/13/2014 anonymousanonymous said:

Sorry, but that's common sense! If people need to have a vendor tell them that, they have more serious issues than WEN. JMHO.

The general public likes disclosure (and good manners). Opinion noted.

Disclosure is called the "ingredients" clearly listed on every bottle.

A few months ago I had a terrible reaction to a SKINN product requiring medical attention, medication and several follow up visits with a dermatologist. Dimitri and ShopQ were notified but Dimitri James never mentioned it on air, not even briefly.
