On 6/9/2014 jc1457 said:
Hi,

I have been following all these Tria treads. I do have a new question. I have one more week to go - I was on advance order and am following the 8 week protocol. My skin is dry but I think it is looking better. I think like Marren everything is just tighter and smoother looking.

I am leaning towards keeping this but am concerned because I'm still having some charging issues. I had some trouble with my unit not charging. I called customer service and did receive a new black charger from Tria. The new charger works sometimes. I called Tria again over the weekend and they had me clean off the prongs inside the purple cradle and also they had me clean off the metal posts on the bottom of the Tria. This worked for 1 day - the next day the unit seemed to not charge completely. I cleaned everything again and the unit did charge fully. It seems to now take a charge as long as I fiddle with it until it is fully charged.

Does this seem "normal"? I don't mind doing this but am afraid that as soon as my 90 days are up, that this unit will die.

Not to be snarky, but it seems to be normal for Tria!

I had an iffy plug, they sent me a new one but took their time, my original one lasted until the very day my new one arrived.

Since then, though, it's been absolutely perfect.

They were supposed to send everyone who bought one from QVC a new charger -- did you get that email? I think I'll post a new thread asking if anybody has gotten theirs (because I haven't gotten mine).

My replacement charger was black, and it didn't "fold" like the original white one did. Plugs straight into the outlet. Is that what yours is like?

OK, so the redness and peeling are finally all gone. As another Tria user put it, my skin developed a "bronzed" look during treatment but I am back to my pale self. I don't see any improvement in deep wrinkles or pore size. The wrinkles I recently developed at the corners of my mouth appear to have diminished. I am still using Isomers R Pur in the morning before applying makeup, and Skinn huile/hydrosurge/vitamin C at night. Neck appears slightly firmer (it was really getting crepey), but I am also using Skinn redensifying neck treatment twice per day.

Every day when I get in the car to drive home I open the moonroof, yank down the sun visor, and take a look at my skin. (Nothing like an inspection in broad daylight to really tell you the truth.) I don't see any improvement yet.

My delivery date was April 1, and my mail back date is June 28.

I'm not quite where you are yet, FS, but my skin feels like velvet again, the red and "tan" are almost gone, and it looks as though my deep wrinkles are lessening a LITTLE (but not sure).

My deep wrinkles are from expression lines and the sag caused by loss of facial fat. Think basset hound, or as shannara mentioned, Tommy Lee Jones! I don't think anything but a LIFT would alleviate those folds, not sure laser can tighten enough to do that.

Same with expression lines -- they're so deep plus I keep making the same expressions all the time, don't know how they could recover sufficiently

I will say at this point -- about 4 days into my rest period -- my SKIN looks really good. Except for the remaining redness and tan, of course. I don't see any little "fine lines" and it just looks a little plumper, and as someone else mentioned, denser. I think my skin would stand up well next to someone in her 30's (I'm 61) but when you step back and see the neck wattle, loss of fat folds, general sagging, I look my age.

I'd love it if this could address all that, but it won't, but at this point I'm cautiously thinking I'll probably keep it. Like you, I'm going to go right up to the deadline before making my final decision.

It is possible that my skin looks a little plumper, and I really do believe the crepiness on my neck has tightened quite a bit. I just expected it to help with 11s and fine lip lines, and I see only worsening or no improvement there. Perhaps I just need to be patient.

I really overdid the between-the-eyes area to try to kill those 11s, but even if they're lessened somewhat, it may not be noticeable to the eye. That's why I think you might see some improvement.

Dr. Setterfield said that it takes 4 weeks minimum to see the results of increased collagen production.

Hi, Maren

I don't think I remember reading that the collagen production would take a minimum of 4 weeks to start showing up. I'm glad you mentioned that because I was thinking the Tria was going to go back since I'm not seeing any results yet. I guess I'm going up to the wire for returning then. I thought how mad I would be if I sent it back and then a week later something good would start happening.

NOT that I could pass along that explanation, I'm sorry to say.

I recall seeing reviews on EDS where people were going to go beyond the 4 week rest period because their skin kept improving and they wanted to see how far it would go. :-)

I'm thinking, though, that we'll definitely know if it's doing SOMETHING in four weeks.

Okay, here's what I noticed this morning. My skin is TIGHTER. I had a floppy little crosshatch thing going on under my left eye. This morning I noticed it's gone and the surrounding area looked tighter, too. Then I looked at my right eye, then the rest of my face: Definitely tighter.

This is NOT to say it tightened it to the point of LIFTING it, but definitely a difference!

Other than that, my skin continues to feel like velvet (I really missed that!) and my Tria Tan is fading quickly. Looking forward to what comes next!

And where is everybody?

I so wish I would've gotten on the Beauty Banter and saw that there was an 8 week treatment period instead of the 12 wk 5/2 I'm following. I'll either have to send mine back after my treatment or see how you guys are doing and decide from there.

My skin is a little brown but usually goes away on my 2 day off. I have no new lines or brown spots.

I just finished my first recovery week. I followed the 5/2 protocol and decided to go ahead a stop to see how my skin would look before the 90 day return period is finished. I can sincerely say that I think my skin looks great. My crows feet are completely flat when I am not smiling and even smiling they are so much better than they were. My sun spots at the top of both cheeks are no longer visable. (They got darker during the treatment period) My nasal labial folds are much more shallow. My marionette lines are much improved. This is my worst area, but it is much better. My skin is plump and looks good without makeup. I use great skincare so I feel that helps. I am going to keep my Tria and do some more treatment after 4 weeks.

Best wishes to all.

Deb0360, I got the Tria when it was TSV and started treatment on April 1. I used level 1 for a day and moved up to level 2 and in about 4 days went to level 3. I couldn't to the 7 day protocol. My skin would stay too red. Some weeks I only did 4 days. I read somewhere that if you skin is still red, skip a treatment.

Just wondering when you started?

Did anyone take pics?

I called Tria on Saturday and the rep was very nice and very confident that it was not the plug.

I'd call Tria again because different customer reps say different things. It COULD be a wacky little charging cup. And, some have had actual units themselves that were duds. If worse comes to worse, you might try exchanging it at QVC and give "defective" as the reason.

My skin is dry, too, and I relied on Skinn's Serums and 24 Hour Cream. Since I went on the rest period I got a sample of Kate Somerville's Dermal Quench and it's pretty amazing. I wish I'd been using it during the actual treatment period, although I got so dry not sure that would have helped.

I hope you get this aggravating situation resolved -- good luck!!

One suggestion I would make for all of you trying to decide if you think you want to keep it or not. Try and watch one of the latest video presentations and listen closely to the Tria Rep. I was a little surprised when I watched her maybe 2 weeks ago now when she was on with Lisa. She talked about the really visible improvements that would be seen around the orbital area of the eye while the rest of the face would see tone and texture improvements. I guess I was surprised with how she kind of glossed over Tria's impact on facial skin being significant while really stressing the eye area changes.

Watching the whole presentation and listening to her might also help you decide is kind of what I was thinking. It's a big decision for sure so thought all the help you can get would be invaluable.

And I know it's me, not you -- and as soon as you tell me I'll be gobsmacked that I didn't grasp it. So....?

I've heard her talk about the orbital area, too (maybe the same presentation you're referring to). She was emphasizing it so much that fleetingly I wondered if that's the only area they submitted to the FDA for clearance. But then I realized they DO say to use it all over the face, so I don't understand why the extra attention to the orbital area. Maybe that's what you're going to enlighten me about. :-)
