topic Question about Mr Rebates/Ebates with returns in Beauty

Let's say you order two items from one place using Mr Rebates or Ebates. You then have to return one of the items. Does Mr Rebates/Ebates take away the whole rebate you received or do they calculate only the portion you returned? Hopefully my question makes sense.
