topic Best way to clean surface of pressed powder? in Beauty

I've been having a hard time lately picking up any color from my Too Faced Pink Leopard blush/highlighter, and upon closer inspection it appears that the surface of the powder got wet and sort of hardened. I'm thinking a few swipes with rubbing alcohol will do the trick, but am a little worried that will eat all the way through the compact, and that stuff is expensive!

Can anyone tell me how to "safely" clean the surface of the powder? Thanks in advance--I always get fantastic answers here!
