Call Tria right away. Many of us have received new charger plugs (and Tria is sending ALL of us a new one soon, apparently). Others have had to replace their entire device. Tria has been really good about doing this.

They'll let you know if they think it's a plug or device problem, and rectify it.

Good luck -- let us know!

ETA
What you're describing is exactly what happened to me. They sent a new plug and it's been fine ever since. If you can plug it into your PC you can charge it that way and keep it going until a new one arrives (if it's a plug problem).

I was on the advanced order so I received my Tria late. I am currently finishing up my 5th week. I am doing the 8 week protocol.

The last few nights, it's taken the Tria longer to recharge it's battery. Then last night it died on me before I was completely finishing my face.

I had planned on keeping this - although I am concerned about all of the defective models that are being reported. Now I'm hoping it will last through my first treatment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works ok for me tonight.

Thanks for listening

My first unit was defective (it got hotter and hotter as it went through its zones), and Tria replaced it. My replacement arrived in a box that was unsealed and unlike my original from the Q, the cord was not in a sealed pouch. I was irritated, because I specifically asked the CSR at Tria if my replacement would be new or refurbished. She assured me it would be a new unit. Well, the replacement they sent to me appears to be a dud, imho. Level 3 on my replacement feels just a little stronger than Level 1 on my original, which means it cannot have the intended output needed for me to achieve any results. I am extremely disappointed in the Tria corporation and what appears to be a product with many quality control issues.

Good luck - I think you are in your final week?!!!

You're sweet! I've become practically obsessed with this because it offers an at-home option for "doing something" to improve our signs of aging. Whether it works how we want it to or delivers what we're hoping for remains to be seen. :-)

The glitches and bum plugs/units have been SO aggravating, and I hate for people to give up (although I certainly understand) before they've had a chance to see for themselves if this is for them. Thankfully, Tria CS has stepped up to the plate, so for those of us who want to hang in there, they're helping make it SOMEWHAT painless.

Don't forget to try charging off your PC. There may be other options as well but since I have only Apple products/plugs, none of those worked for me.

Again, what you describe is exactly what happened to mine, so if it is just the plug, hopefully you'll be up and running again soon.

Thank you Maren. I just called Tria and a new cord is being sent to me via 2 day delivery. It should arrive by the middle of next week. The customer service rep believes I have a bad cord - big surprise!

Thank you again!

I just read your entire post -- and here I was singing Tria's praises. Are you going to give it another try? I'm not surprised CS told you they'd send you a new one -- and they probably have no control over what you got.

Someone mentioned the last time the Tria "Director of Education" was on the Q, she indicated they have something "exciting" coming up. I wonder if it's a better, tweaked, improved unit? Maybe CS can let you know if there's a new generation?

I'm so frustrated FOR you!!!

I am, anyway. "Is it too hot? Is it not getting as hot as it has been?" It's like we're waiting for it to go on the fritz. Tria needs to go back to the drawing board or up their quality control. Someone said that the Elos hair removal device is the same -- lots of complaints about it not working or giving up the ghost after just a little while.

Oh NO!

Maren - I'm not buying that someone didn't have control over the replacement I was sent. I specifically questioned her because of the info in the warranty. I would have returned it to the Q had she told me I would receive a refurbished unit. She assured me that since I had my unit for less than 30 days, I would be sent a new unit. I am done with Tria for now.

Thank you for the welcome home. Yes, we had a great time, with the exception of the 5 hr. time difference. The most challenging part of each day was eating breakfast @ 2:30AM EDT.

MidNight - Sorry to learn that you've gone through a similar experience. I stopped using mine a couple of weeks ago, because imho, there was no point. Tria states that Level 1 will not produce any results and my replacement on Level 3 feels just like Level 1. I also experienced no pinkness after use with the replacement.

I am unsure what Tria's announcement will be, but you may be right about additional FDA clearance.
