Adding oils to your cleansing routine would serve no advantage as you would apply it only to rinse it out a few minutes later.

As WenGirl42 had stated, oils are best used as a pre-wash treatment (for scalp, hair, or both) and also as a part of your leave-ins. As leave-ins they can be applied alone or mixed with other leave-ins. I've used many different oils for years in my hair, long before ever discovering WEN, and they are great.

Best of luck with your oil experimentation.

I never add oils to my cleanses since I'm just going to rinse that out...I do add them to my leave in, and sometimes to my ReMoist treatments. And I use them as pre-cleanse treatments for a few hours or overnight when possible.

Prior to Wen, I added oil prior to cleansing. It was mainly to melt tangles or to prevent my hair from getting dried out if I used a particularly strong (non-sulfate) shampoo.

With Wen, I add oils to my CCs when I use them as a leave-in; to ReMoist when I use that as a leave-in; or on damp hair to refresh it on a non-wash day.

I agree with everyone. I wouldn't use the oil during a cleanse - it would be a waste and wash down the drain. I normally use the oils overnight or during the day if I'm cleansing later in the afternoon or evening. I have used the oil after cleansing to wet hair before drying my hair and even a couple drops after drying. I think I'm going to put one of my bottles in the shower though to mix with my leave in as so many are saying. I'll grab e a little one though. I don't want to accidentally drop a big bottle.

Saw, I dropped a big tub of Pantene Curly Deep Conditioner in the shower. I was livid! From then on, I am conscious about what I use in the shower.

If I was that mad over a half empty tub of my favorite cheap conditioner, just imagine how I would be if my TT Oil went turtle in the shower.

Mom4321, there's a bunch of ways to use the oils. You can use them before cleansing as a scalp treatment...How long you leave the oil on is up to you. They say overnight but if I don't have time, I just apply, massage through and let set for as long as I can before cleansing. Overnight really does work best though if you're looking to grow your hair long.

After my second cleanse, I apply oil to my hair --mid to ends....just a few drops and kinda work it in. My hair tends to be dry from bleach, so it tolerates alot of oil...your results may vary. Chaz recommends mixing some oil into the cleansing conditioner that you leave in...put a couple of drops into that leave in CC and work through. They recommend twisting it into the hair to really get it in good. I make sure my hair is still sopping wet and keep adding water to keep it all sloppy.lol Messy, but effective.lol

Again, depending on your hair type, you can add oil to your styling creme...you can add that oil instead of the oil in CC or in addition to. It all depends on your hair. You could even add some of the gloss serum to the styling creme instead of oil--or do some of each...again, depends on your hair what it's going to like best. I personally find the gloss is best if I want a straight style. When I wear my hair curly/flippy, I use mousse instead of the gloss.

And finally(sorry for the ginormous post lol) you can use oil on dry hair. It works like the gloss to make your hair shiny and soft. I recommend concentrating on the ends where hair's driest. You can mix up this regime however you want, whatever works best...I can add oil anywhere in the process and I'm fine because my hair needs the moisture--You kinda experiment to see what works best for you. The oils though are absolutely amazing no matter how you use them!

Hope that helps

chickenmoo, great breakdown! I never thought to use oil on dry hair! On my non=wash days, I dampen my hair in the shower and then apply oil. I'm going to try it out tomorrow!

Well said Chickenmoo!! OP---I primarily use the oils as an overnight scalp treatment, it's worked wonders in normalizing my scalp's oil production. Occasionally, it will add just a few drops to my leave in or styling cream, for extra moisture.
