Thanks for the rec for the Suave, I will look for that one next time. I am a fan of the jergens, I am med/fair and it gives me a very natural looking tan. I am currently trying the equate version of the St. Tropez mousse, color is nice but I am struggling with application. I think I do better with a lotion type formula.

Interesting that Jergens would be the winner for fast dry.... I think it takes a while, and if I go to bed shortly after application it does transfer to my sheets.

I have been using Tan Towels for the last few years, but will always try a new one. Recently purchased and used Suave Visible Glow which is a new gradual tanner. I have always been unhappy with the gradual ones because I'm not fond of having to do 3 or 4 applications before I really started to look tan. I am fair but bought the one for medium to dark skin and I get a decent tan with one application. No streaks, very moisturizing and has a pleasant smell. I do notice the usual self tanner smell after and hour or so, but not very strong.

Was reading the new issue of Good Housekeeping today and they did a consumer favorite test of self tanners with 250 women and 13 different tanners, as well as lab testing. The testers favorite was Nivea SunKissed Radiance and Suave was listed as most moisturizing. Also mentions Nature's Gate (have never heard of this) as a best value and Jergen's Natural Glow as most fast drying.

I used St. Tropez Gradual Tan the last couple of years. It was the best I've tried, but I still got streaks and splotches on a regular basis. Maybe I'm just not good at applying, although I've been using some kind of self-tanner for years.

This year, I'm using Jergens BB Body and I really like it. Just a minimal amount of self-tanner so no mistakes.

I have not had much success with any of the ones from the drugstore. Jergens, Nivea and Suave both have too strong an odor to want to use daily and build up on the skin causing uneven color. I tried St Tropez gradual tan and the one by Tan Towel and while they worked better with less smell, they still had uneven color after a week and a half. If I exfoliate, the uneven color happens sooner. I just start using self tanner and skip the gradual tanner fiasco.

I have been mixing the tan towels express tan spray in with my regular body butter and that is doing a decent job. Also, just received Josie Maran's tan extending lotion and will see how that one goes. So far, I really love the way it smells, but I know it will take a few applications to see the color. I have always used tan towels, but in reading the label I noticed some parabens in them, so I'm trying to find something else.

I love Jergens Natural Glow for gradual tanning. I do not find the smell to be strong at all and really does a wonderful job. I find it extremely fast drying. I put it on in the morning just before I get dressed and it's dry before I put on any clothing. Never have to worry if I missed a spot, etc. I live in SOuthern California and ,as I don't wear sleeveless, you can imagine how white my upper arms can get. Natural Glow has solved that problem already. You cannot tell the difference between upper and lower arms.

On the recommendation of a poster here a few weeks ago, I started using Jergens Body BB cream.

It's not a tanner, but it does give some color, and after a week the "pastiness" is gone from my legs.

No smell really...just that typical perfumey smell that lotions have, and it goes away quickly.

I decided to try Jergens body glow...more of a tanner, I guess. It doesn't smell bad like I remember in years past.

I'm just tired of dealing with the hard core tanners...the smell, the transfer of color onto my sheets, the uneven snake skin fading...the streaks.. blotchy spots no matter how careful you are...I've tried many, and they all do it to some degree.
