Drugstore Brush Recommendations?

Need a powder brush for my Ambient Lighting Powder. I realize I've been using flat-topped brushes almost exclusively for a few years, and don't know where all my other brushes went.

I went hunting for a Mally powder brush I know is around here somewhere, but no luck. I DID find that I have several pair of (identical) cuticle scissors, and three eyelash combs (which I don't think I've ever used even once). Bonus -- I found my Raymond Weil watch I thought was long gone. But no Mally brush. :-(

I also have a Fred Meyer near me, if they carry a line that you guys think is good.

I've recently bought some Real Techniques brushes and love them. ULTA carries them and had a BOGO going; plus, I used my coupon for $3.50 off a purchase of $10 or more. So I got two brushes for $11 and change.

I have two of their stipple brushes and their Expert Face brush (which applies foundation quite well).

They're inexpensive, synthetic, and get very good reviews.

I love Real Techniques brushes, but I can't remember if they are at drugstores.

Funny, but when I posted, I had it in my head that ULTA was like a drugstore. I have no idea why that thought was in my head -- maybe because unlike Sephora, they do sell drugstore products.

Real Techniques brushes can be purchased online also, though.

Yes -- Real Techniques! I know there's a brand that many have mentioned as an alternative to higher-priced brushes, and I couldn't remember the name -- thank you!

I just asked for drugstore because I wanted to hop in my car and get it now, and I wasn't even sure if there was an Ulta in my area. (I tend to stay away from places like Sephora because I inevitably end up buying too much -- limit my shopping to online where I do enough damage). There's actually an Ulta (TWO, to my surprise) close to me. Dare I?

I agree about Real Technique brushes, I like the couple that I've tried, and I've read good reveiws on them. I've only seen them at Ulta though, so I guess they're not technically drug store.

I have tried some from Meijer, they're called Studio something.. I can't remember sorry, but they have red handles with black, and the ones I've tried are pretty good for being drugstore.

Thanks, ginabfly. I just have to decide if I'm brave (or strong) enough to enter an Ulta. Ultimately, I'd like to get Wayne Goss's brush sets because of the stellar reviews (especially from Tarababyz). So just something to tide me over will do. I think I MUST try the Real Techniques, just so popular!

If you're near a Target, I recommend the Sonia Kashuk and the e.l.f. studio brushes.

As mentioned, Real Techniques are excellent but I also have an Elf Blush brush that I quite like (it was probably a dollar or so), it has held up very well.

Real Techniques often are Buy One Get One half off at Ulta, I've seen them that way a couple times at least.

I've been satisfied with with brushes from the brands ELF, Sonia Kashuk (exclusive to Target), and Japonesque (Ulta has an extensive collection from this brand).

Most drugstores and I know Walmart has Eco Tools.
