topic The Colored Primers ~ Some Thoughts... in Beauty

Today I tried the Artistry Team contest 'look' {Its up on dotcom and Alex had won} using Chrome Voilet and Antique Pearl for now {HA! My BA and I spent 3 hours one night with these primers and the color wheel and at the end she said I didn't need Sundance or Racing Green...wish I had gotten THEM and not Urban Nature, sigh}. Anyway, I had some trouble getting a decent crease/V with Chrome Violet and even used a great brush! The Heavenly Liner Blending Brush is perfect for these, {other brushes can get goopy or the colored primer can get flakey like}....

Needless to say my look, didn't 'look', like Alexes on dotcom...and I seriously question my 'skills' in the moment ...I have a feeling I won't be using these as much as crease/V shadows. I'm not sure I want to 'practice' to 'get them down' as much as I would a loose shadow combo, seriously. Now playing with just one of them, on the lid...

For sometime I've been layering down a SB gel color or used a B&B on my finger tip, putting the color down on my lid and shifting the looks of HS Pewter, Flare, Ice-with the new Opal primer and Mist {so far} layered over the first color. Now THIS I've had great success with and Love these looks!

I'll be trying Chrome Violet under HShine Flash, eventually Racing Green under Mist vs Forrest B&B, Sundance under Glisten or Gold Medal...maybe even Bronze. I did try Bronzed Twig under Flare and need an even sheerer layer of BT to get the look I had been getting with a brown SB gel. Maybe HS Copper with BT too, and Gunmetal for Frost. This is the direction I'll be going first. The HShine group has been fairing very well this way.

Since I also feel that the Smart & Savvy kit from Sephora this spring was sort of a lead into the Colored Primers arrival, where Brightening goes down on the lid and Sassy is the crease/V, eventually I'll get around to matching up crease colors {we'd done lid colors in the Boutique with all of them...} instead. Since I am a believer on this 'look', to try all these pretty new primers this way as well!

Well thanks for reading. This got longer than I thought. I think this has been bottled up since Tues. night!
