I used Salicylic Acid on my face and it is dry and also around my eyes. I'm not sure how it got near my eyes but it did. I have tried many things including Cerave and it burned. Is there something I can use that will heal eyes and face and not burn or irritate? I would try organic if I can get local. Whole Foods or Sprouts. Please can anyone help me? Thanks so much Katey!

I literally burned myself using a glue gun in a hospital-based arts program. Before I went for first aid, the employee running the class broke off a leaf of a nearby aloe plant, broke open the leaf and dropped the liquid directly onto my burn.

So I'm thinking vaccinia's suggestion is spot on: pure aloe vera and see your doctor.

I would think a product like Neosporin which is meant for burns might also help.

Did this happen after only one use? It sounds like you might have overdone it and damaged the lipid barrier. Do you have any Rose Hip Seed Oil or another moisturizing oil? For the next several days, do very gentle cleansing and apply oil

You can find Aquaphor in any drug store, walmart, target, probably any big box store too. It's a gel and it's quite soothing and cooling. It was recommended for me when I had a burn on my arm. The burn healed but the skin was tight and this helped until the skin was completely healed. One of my old supervisors had a chemical peel (sp) and her dermatologist told her to use the Aquaphor. She said it was wonderful on her raw skin. Hope this helps.

I agree, the less you do, the less you exacerbate the reaction and the faster your skin will heal.

Avoid harsh cleansers and be gentle with the area. Use your most emollient creams or balms to moisturize and let it be as much as possible. I know when I get a flare up like that, I also avoid makeup. I'm comfortable without makeup on my regular days, but it's harder when I'm red and flaky and want to hide it. I just consider how bad the makeup will look over the flaky, rough patch and how much longer it will look bad if I don't just leave it and let it heal.

Hope that helps.

I just had something similar happen to me. I had a super bad reaction to Paula's Choice 4% BHA foam.

Aloe plants are amazing. Break off a leaf and the plant seals itself and grows more leaves. The leaf that you break off will seal itself too so that you can continue to open it at the bottom where it has re-sealed itself and use what you need until the leaf is empty. They are easy to grow and what could be more organic than aloe fresh from the plant! I have even taken a leaf that has resealed itself with me to work in my bag without problems. Cut open the leaf at the bottom, use what you need, leave it exposed to air for a bit and it reseals itself.

I'm hoping you don't mean the plant.

The last aloe I bought was at Wal-Mart and I always buy just clear aloe.. I always keep some on hand. It is great for burns, as well as itchy skin. I would think you could also find it at any Drugstore.
