I have tried so many and the one Im happiest with is Beautisol. It goes on smoothly, natural color and no tanner smell. It is one of the very best I have used and it is Paraben Free.

2 brands that I would recommend are Vita Liberata and Xen Tan. QVC sells the Vita brand but they only offer a few of their comprehensive product line up. Check Amazon and Sephora for their complete collection. I know Nordstrom's sells Xen Tan (free shipping and returns) and Vita Liberata too. Vita has almost no ST smell too which appeals to many.

Both were designed not to turn orange on even the lightest of skin which really appeals to me.

HSN sells one I've never tried nor heard much about but apparently gets very good reviews. I saw it being presented very early this AM and know it starts with a B but don't recall the full name. It looked interesting from the presentation. You could check their recently aired products or do a search for ST.

I can't use just about any other brand as they all have the tendency to turn orange on my skin, especially the legs.

I use Tan Towels (the other shopping network) and I also like the St Tropez. The towels are more convenient sometimes. I find the St Tropez takes a while to dry if it is humid.

I have used them all except the Liberata which I plan to use. I love Xen-Tan and I do love the new St. Tropez dark because it lasts longer. I do not like Bare Essentuals - it is sticky and gummy and takes forever to dry and I felt it was orange looking and if that's what LR uses, that confirms my feelings. None of the above have any smell.

Good luck finding one that suits you.

I've been using the new Suave self tanner. I love it! I'm fair skinned and this has given me a nice natural glow without the stink of the others I've tried. Doesn't streak either.

On 4/29/2014 Shelbelle said:
Tan Towels are top notch for convenience , ease of use, and no drips or messes.

I agree! St. Tropez seemed to receive good reviews & for a long time I thought maybe it would be good to give it a try - I caved in w/the TSV. It's been sitting there :-O so if it doesn't work as nicely as Tan Towels --- I'll be disappointed. I always had a good experience w/Tan Towels. I found for me the trick was: after exfoliating - tan my face & body & I'd wait 3 or 4 hrs? take a shower to see if there were areas I missed - then I would re-apply & found the shade to be nice. If I wanted to be darker, i.e. I would apply the next day - it was easy to get the shade I wanted & easy to keep the shade I wanted.

Shelbelle - reading yur post I'm shaking my head since my experience for yrs. w/Tan Towels is the same as your experience. I have a feeling St. Tropez isn't going to be as easy. Maybe I'll use old tan towels (I forgot I had) & put the St. .Tropez on the towellettes since that's the way I am used to tanning & may help using this new tanner. I hope I'm not disappointed..................if it ain't broke - don't fix it. :-)

I have been using COMODYNES tan towels for years and I love them. It gives a natural glow/tan gradually and I usually just use on my face and neck year round just to give me some color but it is for the body also. I buy it at Drugstore.com

Jergens Natural Glow Foaming moisturizer & tanner in a metal can. Goes on light, no streaking, no smell and dries fast. Can buy it at CVS, drugstore.com and several other places - absolutely amazing. You can select the light to medium or the medium to dark. I bought the medium to dark and the next day I could not believe the beautiful natural tan. Even my husband complimented how natural it looks. It says to use it every day the first week then twice a week to keep it up. I only used it twice this week and its dark enough.

I also like the Tarte Maracuja tanner from QVC. BTW, I'm not usually a self tanner person. I have to go somewhere mid May and I was testing several of these products for my white legs. It will be fun to have a tan.

So far I'm really liking Vita Liberata - very easy to apply, goes on evenly (I was very careful to exfoliate first) and no color coming off in the shower. I was thinking of posting a more detailed review after I've used it for a few weeks - I'm especially hoping it will fade without that mottled, reptilian look.
