topic Strivectin-AR retinol night cream... in Beauty

I've been using it with good results, but it's my first retinol product and I was wondering how it compares to the lower priced Alpha Hydrox Retinol ResQ and the RoC Deep wrinkle retinol products. The Strivectn-AR claims it's better than Rx retinoids which I doubt, as they claim to strengthen the skin barrier to protect against irritation. The Strivection product is $109, but I bought a smaller tube on Ebay. Has anyone used this and has also tried other retinol products I mentioned? Are they as good? I'm almost out and was wondering.

I am shocked at how much using this at night and the Truth Serum in the morning has also lightened the brown spots on my upper chest after about 6 weeks. I noticed them getting lighter after 2-3 weeks. Much better than when I tried the 4% hydroquinone, which I was skittish about using. It did nothing. Is it the vitamin C or the retinol that might have done it, or both together, ya think? Anyway, I'm very pleased and hope with continued use they will almost disappear. The damage was done before it was known what the sun did to skin.

Blondelle, I think it is both the vitamin C and retinol that is helping to lighten skin. Both of these are gently helping in skin turnover. Are you seeing smoother skin also?

It won't hurt to try either the AH (which I've gotten at Ulta already), or the RoC. The percentage of retinol in the AH is .15%, but there's no way to know the percentage of retinol in the other products unless you ask the company.

Thanks Harpa. The skin on my chest area is much smoother. It felt rough before when running my hand over it. The red spots there are also dimishing. The redness of my face is so much better and the skin is more even toned using these. I can get away with wearing a foundation without much coverage. L'Oreal has a new BB SPF sunscreen that's a watery tinted product. It evens the skin though, and I'm liking it. My skin is more even toned and has a nice glow to it. I'm also using the Strivectin-AR eye treatment and their TL eye one, but so far no much headway in the undereye wrinkles. That takes longer to see results. I'm also going to try the one I just posted about. For $13.28 you can't go too wrong. The ingredient deck is awesome. You can see how much the markup is on similar products selling for several times more!
