I've recently started using It Celebration Foundation Illumination over a tinted moisturizer with spf and really like the look since I haven't used a powder foundation in years. It gives me a medium cover and a nice creamy glow.

I am looking for opinions on a good powder foundation with great coverage. I have tried the Tarte and that is better than Bare Minerals IMO, but I am wondering if there are some others that may be even better. I am out and need to order soon. TIA!

I am very happy with my Laura Geller Balance n Brighten. As with any powder on a mature face, I use it with a light hand. I also use her Spackle before any foundation.

I think the best one i ever tried was Halo. Thank goodness it was given to me by a friend who said she felt the color was too light for her, because it is outside of my MU budget - way too pricey. However, if you don't mind what you have to pay for it - it's a super product.

I agree with the Smashbox Halo powder. It's so finely milled. Sephora and Ulta have more shade choices than when I bought it from the Q.

It's dreadfully expensive, but there's a many-years supply in the jar. Getting it 20% off during a sale will take the sting out a bit.

There are so many "great" powder foundations on the market I'm going to sound like a fool with the number I list as being ones I have used and loved. I really don't have a front running favorite in this group.

In no particular order I love the following because they wear well on my skin; look natural; and offer a great color range:

loose: Tarte's Amazonian Clay, Smashbox Halo; pressed: MAC's Studio Fix, Nars Powder Foundation, Lancome's Dual Finish, Laura Mercier's Smooth Finish, Pur Minerals.

The following I have used and they are impressive, but didn't wow me as much as those I listed above:

loose: Jane Iredale's loose mineral foundation, MAC's Mineralize; pressed: Clinique's Perfectly Real, Laura Geller's Balance-N-Brighten, and Becca's Perfect Skin Mineral Powder.

I've tried them all and if I had to choose just one, I'd choose Philosophy Supernatural Airbrushed. Next would be Laura Geller Balance & Brighten. Halo would fall somewhere on the list below those two. Bare Minerals wouldn't even make my personal list as I find it's too cakey looking and accentuates rather than covers imperfections such as lines and wrinkles.

I only use Everyday Minerals (order online) and LOVE their products and customer service. I switched to them years ago when BM changed their formula without notifying customers and their new foundation gave me a horrible rash. No problem with Everyday Minerals!

I like IT Celebration Foundation. I don't get the fabulous cover Jamie does but I do like it. I just have to use something to cover my redness in addition to using the foundation. But it feels nice on the skin and has a natural look. I find myself reaching for it a lot.
