bljed:

I agree in theory to prevent something is better than having to "fix" it once it's occurred. When I tried Retin-A in my 20's I didn't see any change, but there was nothing TO change!

And I agree about the chargers. They've been getting complaints and having to send out new ones since they first introduced this. My CS rep said that they're "on top of it" but apparently we got the last of the old stock and they were just hoping for the best? Aggravating!

Happy to report it was better than last night. I think the device gets hotter the longer it's on. I might start around my mouth tomorrow night when it's cooler as that is the most sensitive spot for me. The watermelon mask feels pretty soothing. I won't be at home tomorrow night. I think Monday I will start a post for Week 2 so we don't have a hundred threads. Don't know if I can post from the beach because the wifi is on the seasonal bandwidth. I'll check on everyone's posts if I can. Happy zapping, all.

So happy to hear that! L3?

My 2nd night of L2 wasn't any more intense than last night, thankfully, but I'm not ready to try L3 yet.

I was thinking today that we'll be giving EDS a run for its money in our coverage of this. And you're right -- if we keep going daily, there will be hundreds of threads to cover. I think a Weekly one would be better. Great idea! Just one thread to check each week rather than scurrying back and forth between days. I think that will be so much easier than EDS where you have to check though the entire thread to find what may be applicable to you.

I didn't use the Tria serum tonight -- and although my face was warm and prickly, it wasn't that annoying sparkly feeling I got from the serum

This is another excuse to try the watermelon mask!

We'll keep the fire burning while you're gone. DON'T FORGET SUNBLOCK

Yes. Level 3. The redness is already fading tonight after half an hour. The stinging is there but not terrible. I guess I'm doing the 8 week protocol. I use an extra bedroom as my girl cave where I have the Tria. It gets pretty hot on the second floor during our hot and humid summers and I'm not relishing the thought of doing this when my face is sweating. So I may not do a second round until September. Although if it does something fabulous I might not be able to wait. I can only hope that's the case.

I've had a good bit of experience with lasers from mild for redness to CO2 fractional (serious youch). Each and every time I've been told to use a mild and emollient cream. For CO2 it was basically Vaseline with a little something else in a tube for days on end. No fragrance and nothing harsh or potentially irritating. Maybe some organic aloe gel. Basically, you've created a burn on some level. You need to assist in the healing of it or, at least, not potentially irritate the area. I'd think some argan or RHSO would be good, too, mixed with some aloe.

Have you guys considered Googling for some kind of OTC numbing cream to use before the Tria? That is what they do in the dr's office. Apply and let it sit and take affect for about 15 minutes before the procedure.

I was just thinking of getting something at the drugstore to use after using the Tria. But I do like the serum and if I could find it cheaper, maybe I will continue to use that.

Last night when I washed my face and did the Tria, I had a terrible time of gliding the laser smoothly on my face. It kept jerking, like it was very dry. The purple light kept going off and I was losing contact. This hasn't happened at all before. Maybe I didn't rinse my face well enough and there was still soap residue on it, I don't know, but didn't glide smooth, and then the battery died after I was nearly done with zone 4. But I hardly had any redness at all.

shannara - GREAT idea for a weekly thread. I agree with BellaCarro that it's best to avoid post treatments, such as masks. I upped it to L2 last night and splashed cold water on my face for a few minutes after I completed my treatment. That helped reduce the redness. Then I applied my PM products.

So, I think dermaroller, I think BC and Lyn. :-). I've still got quite a ways to go before I'm at the point where I'd even consider it, but I'm going to give it some thought. (By the way, is it really 600%? Do you recall? I do remember it's pretty impressive how much more efficacious treatment products are when using the cosmetic length needles.)

How have you been?

It kept jerking, like it was very dry. The purple light kept going off and I was losing contact. This hasn't happened at all before. Maybe I didn't rinse my face well enough and there was still soap residue on it, I don't know, but didn't glide smooth, and then the battery died after I was nearly done with zone 4. But I hardly had any redness at all.

I wonder what's up? You've got a new cord en route, right? Mine (the one that came with) actually seems to be working, but it takes around 10 hours for it to stop blinking. That doesn't explain your skips, though. I always seem to lose contact around my mouth and the first night I thought the battery died, but no, operator error. :-) The only other times that happens to me is when I find I'm pressing too hard (trying to KILL those wrinkles). Could that be it?

MarenSeattle - I've decided to go with Tria's ""non-USA"" protocol (8 - 4 - 8) and am considering using my 0.02mm cosmetic roller during my 4 week break.

I have read your posts and you know much more about ingredients than I do. I will take your word. Do you have a suggestion as to what to use? Thanks again for your concern. Much appreciated. Maren - hope you see this. Don't listen to me.
Aw, thanks. I'm sorry if I stepped into your suggestion.

I like the idea of the aloe and RHSO. Even though (thus far) my face seems to take pretty much anything, I would like the first ingredients I apply after treatment to be soothing and nourshing.

Saw a vid from a TV show were a Derm was saying she thinks it's great to make your own stuff, recommended green tea with rosewater as a spritz. My problem with doing my own green tea stuff, is I've read it begins breaking down almost immediately and has virtually no shelf life. So, once again, I'm wondering about Nanci's green tea serum. And, someone else posted about 100% pure having a green tea toner.

Tria says you can continue with your Retinol, Retin-A even, but I think I'd rather have an adjustment period before re-introducing active actives. :-)

And I think the 0.02 during the 4 week respite is the perfect plan! Some are waiting 6-8 weeks between treatments because they say the improvements keep happening and want to see how good it can get!

If I continue to do well with this, I'm going to definitely go with the 8/4 (or 6 or 8!) protocol. And if I have an especially rough day, I have no qualms about skipping a day here and there. What do you think?
