I'M GLAD QVC HAS THE HIGHEST $$$ SHIPPING RATES IN THE INDUSTRY !!!

I really think twice before ordering because of the high shipping rates. When they had the $3 and$5 rates i really ordered up during this time. QVC has the highest rates on beauty items. I do understand that the high cost of running a shopping channel vs online companies that a much lower overhead. But i see no reason that they can't offer free shipping over $75 . What does everybody think. Thanks

HSN offers free shipping on many beauty items. QVC could do the same. I will often watch the presentation on QVC and then go to Sephora and purchase with free shipping.

While I agree that their S&H is outrageous it obviously has not stopped people from buying. Until it does there will be no changes.

The total cost of things almost always prevents me from buying from QVC. Even when they had $3-$5 S&H the total cost on the things I was interested in was still too high.

I add things to my Wish List but the prices don't drop to what I am willing to pay very often.

I have not purchased anything from QVC this year.

You can buy the same beauty items from Nordies and get free shipping and free returns. OR you can buy from QVC, pay the SAME price, pay for shipping on top of that. I am puzzled why people buy here, but they line up to do it.

I totally agree...I considered the BE OTO this evening, but that $28.94 price soon turned to almost $40 with S&H and tax...sorry, no thanks!

Well, as a 20 year shopper at QVC, I can tell you that I have cut way back with my shopping with the Q. Shipping charges are ridiculous and I think twice before I purchase anything. There are just too many other places to shop with free shipping or free with a minimum purchase.

I miss the old Q and I am really sorry that it has come to my losing interest completely.

QVC has raised prices on their merchandise to the point the shipping should be included in the price they are charging now; this would mean they could offer free shipping for almost everything. I don't ever expect it to happen, but I think they are moving in the wrong direction on this if they expect to keep customers.

I've cut back and I'm doing a lot more comparison shopping. I mean really, other than for the occasional EP, why would anyone spend more than they have to? When QVC's price with shipping is competitive or they have a color or style I can't find elsewhere, then I'll buy here, but otherwise, I'm going for the best deal, and that isn't found here all that often.

I shopped Macys, Belks and Sephora at Christmas time because they had good sales, free shipping and 15-20% off your order. I lov QVC but the shipping is TOO much!

Now I realize QVC gets a discount on shipping and all, so this doesn't really compare. But what I would like to see some of you do is sell for a month on eBay. I'm willing to bet most of you would finally understand what shipping and handling actually cost, and what it's like when a buyer wants to return and item and raises holy heck when you tell them they will get a refund on the purchase price only, not on the shipping!

That handbag that the Q charges $10.67 to ship, will cost you $15.67 Parcel Post and $36 to ship Priority. That's just shipping! That's not including a handling charge! Plus that doesn't include the insurance you need to add just to protect yourself from scamming buyers, because you probably only have one of that item you just sold.

I'm pretty sure QVC's shipping is high because of all the returns and the shipping they have to swallow. Imagine what would happen with returns if they gave free shipping!

You make a good point. The shipping cost is the tipping point for me whether or not I buy an item. And, with QVC, it's often "not."

Those charges are outrageous. HSN's CEO has said that they're committed to offering more free S/H as part of their business model, and it shows.

Many online shopping sites offer free shipping and many also offer free returns. Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Barneys all have free shipping & returns with no code required. Saks offers free shipping with code listed on its website and no code for their cardholders. Bloomingdales offers free shipping and free returns for non cardholders if you join the Loyalist program which is free to join. Many of the beauty sites have free shipping with a small minimum purchase and often run specials. The are are probably even more free shipping and free returns and/or free shipping sites that I am not aware of. With all these options available, the shopping channels are going have to change their policies to stay competitive.
