Tria - Day 3

Moved up to level 3 tonight. It seems like a very long time until it beeps and I was really happy to hear the sound. My face was quite pink and the heat was definitely more noticeable. Did I enjoy it like Snowball does? That would be a definite NO. But I can and will do it. It might get better over time. The redness is already subsiding but more afterburn than on level 2. I did a level 2 session on my hands and neck. Hope all those who are having problems will get quick resolution.

Is level 3 actually stronger, or is the only difference the duration for each section being 2.5 minutes?

Krissie, level 3 is definitely stronger! And the longer added time makes it more intense.

Anyway, I said after I used it last night, I had to charge it because the light came on. It has been blinking now for over 10 hours now. So I think something is wrong with mine. It should have been charged by now, right?? Should I call Tria??

Tria Beauty Hey Jen, if you are already using retin and clarisonic as part of your skin care regimen, you should be able to use the Age-Defying Laser as long as your skin is not irritated. To be on the safe side, do not start using all for the first time, at the same time. Let us know if you have any further questions!

It SHOULD have been charged by now, but my (possibly faulty, possibly not) unit kept blinking far longer than it should have. Finally, before I was going to try to use it no matter what, it stopped. It blinked for hours after that, but had stopped by this morning.

You should get a new cord from Tria just to be sure. I think for $400+ they can throw in an extra cord. :-)

I got the pretty purple DVD envelope, and was surprised there was only the Quick Start Guide and User's Manual -- no DVD.

Do I really need it? Won't bother trying to get one if it's not really helpful.

Snowball - thanks for the answer on level 3. I found myself going super fast last night on level 2 because it hurt a little, so will wait a day or two to try level 3. How fast are you going over your skin?

I didn't get a DVD either. Have to admit that I am a little perturbed that Tria evidently cleared out their inventory of old devices on us Q buyers. I'm not so sure I believe that only the charger is different on the new one, and also the fact that they sent all of these devices out knowing some had bad chargers and are just going to wait until customers contact them does not leave me impressed with how they do business.

Heck, maybe there isn't a DVD. A couple of posters referred t it and I was wondering why I didn't get one. Maybe they were referring to the YouTube vids Lyn was referring to. And, it just may have been one poster referring to it twice. How's that for clarity? :-)

I was wrong! There IS NO DVD!

I just looked on the box and it says it contains the Laser, Charging Cradle & Power Supply, Instructions For Use, Quick Start Guide. So check, check, check, check.

Krissie, I agree about Tria sending these older devices out to QVC knowing there were problems with the chargers. I am still mad about that and I wonder if Sephora got the old ones too. I am thinking of maybe just ordering it from there, but I need to know if they are the newer ones.

I don't go too fast when I glide it over the skin. I actually like the feeling of it, so I just go slow. I used it an hour ago and my redness is gone already.

DVD DRAMA UPDATE - and a HUH?

It was Tennessee Vol who got and mentioned the DVD. Her unit itself is a dud so she was talking to Tria CS about the return and mentioned the DVD. She said the CS rep sounded surprised she'd received on.

I went to The Shopping Channel's site and guess what? DVD included! Hmmmm.....

I still haven't registered mine. I only did Level 1 tonight. Tomorrow I will increase to Level 2 for four days. I got a DVD with mine, but since I never read directions, well, I didn't even bother to take it out of the sleeve.

I think I will start doing the backs of my hands tomorrow, too. I just hope it will turn on for another round after I have done the first one. Or is it too smart and it won't turn because it needs to save me from doing more than one treatment in 24 hours? Palo Via has an internal timer and won't turn on too early (can't remember whether that was 8, 12, or 24 hours).

My Tria laser did have the dvd, although the box packaging did not reference it. The box stated 1. Tria laser 2. Charging cradle 3. Instructions for use (a paper booklet) 4. Quick start guide (a smaller paper booklet). The dvd is called Instructional DVD in a purple sleeve.

It was helpful, but no new info from what is in the booklet. What I did like on the dvd, and it is also listed in the booklet, is the reference that after 1 beep, you are done with section 1. After 2 beeps, done with section 2, etc.

Thanks for the info about using Retin A with the laser.

You can do multiple treatments back to back. My battery only lasts for 25 minutes on level 3.

Thank you!! I just leave mine in the charging cradle all day. I'm sure I can get through a round of Level 1 on hands and Level 2 on face tomorrow night, then.

I did level 2 the first night. Then last night and tonight I did level 3. I also did 2 2 1/2 minute rounds from level 3 on my neck and chest the last 2 days. I have sun spots on my neck and chest I want to dissolve. I woke up with faint redness after the first time, and barely any this morning.

I think TRIA has a video on their website as well. That might be what some people are referring to.

My sister and I both thought were were crazy that after 2 days, we thought our skin was already smoother and our foundation even looked better. Thought it was wishful thinking. Then I read the Sephora reviews today and saw many other people noticed improvement in their skin in just a few days. Took a LOT of close up no make up selfies yesterday. Um..ick. but I won't know how far I have come if I don't have pics to compare. Lets hope no one ever swipes my phone. Boy are THEY in for a surprise!!

I didn't know about the ascending beeps, so when it beeped twice after zone 2, I thought "Oh no! It's dying!". Then I got it. :-)

Apparently if our skin handle it, there's no real need to baby it very much (except for Sunblock). A question was asked how long the user should wait before going outside in the sunlight if she did her treatment during the day. I fully expected the "we recommend treatment in the evening so if there's any redness..." but the Tria response was "you don't have to wait at all, but we don't recommend sunbathing".

Were you able to turn it right back on after your full treatment, 5pugmom?

I think the quick improvement is really a result of a little edema and increased blood flow? Like with Dermarolling, people would rave about how good their skin looked, and it did! But it was actually because of the response to the "attack". I loved how it made me look, but knew that I had to lay off for a month to let the real boss, the collagen, get up and running again.

It will be interesting with this as we have to keep pummeling it every single day. I look forward to the glowing results -- at least until the sandpaper and dryness rear their ugly heads. :-)
