I have been looking for info as to whether or not there are cumulative, permanent, results. I mean permanent not like forever, but not just for a few hours or such.

I have the older NuFace and had a hard time staying with it. I use a LightStim most every evening, but couldn't do it with the NuFace. I found having to wash off the gel to be overdrying to my skin.

Are the results of the microcurrent devices more than temporary or not?

Thanks.

Hyacinth

I think the most you can expect from any device is temporary.

A long time ago, women had facials, and they were only temporary. Now there are lights & microcurrents and fillers, even facial exercises -- all temporary.

If you don't do anything special, then nothing special happens. So, it's just a matter of choosing what you want to use.

This was the answer on Nuface website about how often to use

"NuFACE is safe and gentle enough for everyday use, either morning or night. We recommend using NuFACE once in a 24-hour period, for 5-20 minutes per treatment. For the first 90 days we recommend using NuFACE 5 times per week; after 90 days or after desired results are met, we recommend 2-3 times per week for maintenance."

http://www.mynuface.com/customer-care/faq/

And just makes sense. Even facelifts aren't permanent.

My frustration comes because I want the specific results the different devices deliver, and even I am not willing to spend a couple of hours a day "doing" my face.

I'm hopeful they'll find some way to offer a microcurrent that doesn't require gel. I'm not too hopeful, but I know a couple of laser devices require gel and Tria has come out with one that doesn't, so maybe.

I just returned my NuFace TSV because not only did I HATE the gel (I found cleansing, applying gel, washing off the gel drying, too), but the time it took. About 40 minutes for that, about an hour for LightStim and I was so disgruntled I just stopped them both. And even worse, having to wait 24 hours in between NuFace treatments. Just couldn't make it work with my erratic schedule.

That being said, when I was using it I noticed gradually that it was showing the results for a longer period of time in between treatments.

I DID see results, though, and can see a difference since I stopped. Very subtle, but very noticeable -- to me. Even so, it wasn't doing me any good if I could only use it once every three or four days.

That you saw nothing, and I did, shows us once again that it truly varies from person to person.

I stopped doing everything in my mid-thirties because I was very busy. Well my weight soared and I had all these aches and pains. I decided soon after that I would make taking care of myself one of my hobbies. But now it's like being a classic car. The older I get, the more work it takes. I'm always in the shop. I am and have always been a "do it yourselfer" from doing my own nails, to painting and wallpapering and spreading the weed and feed. I'm really not complaining just amazed at how much needs to be done at this age. I thought 30 years ago, that at 62, I'd be sitting on the porch reading a book.
