Josie Maran new SPF 47 Moisturizer is GREAT !

I used the original SPF 40 moisturizer and really liked it. I was a little hesitant to purchase the new SPF 47 moisturizer based on some of the reviews on this board. I got it last week and I absolutely love this new formula. Yes, it is thicker but I still only need 1 pump for my face. after about 10 seconds it sinks right in without being shiny or greasy. Yes, my skin is on the dry side. Then I use It CC cream or tinted moisturizer over it and it looks great. More importantly, the SPF 47 sunscreen has both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to protect my skin against the south Florida sun. Those of you on the fence about this new moisturizer because of a few changes to the original formula go ahead and purchase it. It is improved and better than the original. Josie, keep making these wonderful products!

Unless the ZO is at 12% or higher, it won't provide great UVA protection. You also can't get by with just a single pump as physical blockers also need to be applied liberally. Sunscreen is something you should be going through rather quickly regardless of the price.

I totally agree with the above poster. I have combination, sensitive skin, and this moisturizer sinks in well, does not look white, and has not irritated my skin at all. I had just finished using up a small travel size of the "old" formula, and have been using the new formula for about a week. To me, there isn't much of a difference.

GM beach, So it is more than just a sunscreen its an actual moisurizer? Do you use it with the oil as well?

This, for sure. This is why I use a sunscreen or moisturizer with sunscreen under any BB cream that also has sunscreen. I can't apply enough of a tinted product to get the protection I need.

I have mature dry skin prone to breakouts. Would this be all I need or would I need to use her oil under it. If someone could please direct me as to what products I would use and how to use them I would appreciate it. I have never tried her line. Thank You

Does it have any tint at all? Also, since 1 pump is nowhere near enough to get the SPF, do you feel like its texture is good enough that you could you apply more?

I was a cult follower of her original daily SPF moisturizer and couldn't wait to grab the new one. I'll have to say after a couple of weeks of trying the new one out, I'm pleased with it. The first thing different about the new formula was the thickness and the "whiteness" of it versus the original. Yes, I do need less and no, it doesn't break me out or cause oilness or whiteness. It seems to work fine underneath my Trish McEvoy BB tinted cream with SPF 35. That's about as much as I can obsess about my facial SPF routine. BTW, I do not use the argan oil with this SPF moisturizer. It has enough moisture for my mega-dry skin, especially with the BB on top of it. Frankly, I like it just as good as my $$$ LaPrairie SPF product.

This has no tint. I generally use 2 pumps for my entire face/neck/upper chest area. No need to "slather", IMO.

LisaB and Chatam, it is first a gear moisturizer with the added bonus of a great physical sunscreen. I do use 2 pumps when I plan to be outside during the middle of the day for added protection. Since the IT CC cream has a high SPF also, using both products together should be good sun protection. I rarely use the argon oil before the moisturizer during the day, but use oil at night. I'm really glad so many of you like this moisturizer too.
