Through the various spring TSVs, I've tried the TT, LAV, CA & SAM SCs. I have thin/fine hair and they all work equally well. I can't see any difference between them. More recently Chaz has been suggesting certain SCs for certain hair types, but he used to just suggest that you pick the scent you liked the best.

Since the 613 SC came out last year, that's the SC I've been using exclusively. It has an exclusive shine ingredient in it that does add more shine to my hair. -- bebe

--

In his QVC shows, Chaz has recommended SC for the following reasons:

* lightweight leave-in conditioner for moisture

* polishing gloss for shine

* light gel for hold

* anti-frizz

* heat protectant

--

I am asking for some advise for my fine, thin, and naturally curly hair. My hair is not chemically treated and prefer to wear my hair curly using a blow dryer w/diffuser in the morning. My main issue is controlling frizz and defining my curls. I am looking for curl definition and volume. I cleanse everyday in order to wash away pollen and other allergens, as I suffer severely from seasonal allergies.

I was able to order the recent Bamboo Green Tea TSV. I like the Six Thirteen styling cream and cleansing conditioner. I am thinking about trying the Six Thirteen mousse. Any suggestions or advise regarding styling products or other varieties of cleansing conditioners for my hair type.

I am sorry if there is another thread discussing this issue but I have not been able to locate it. Please help.

Hi Lolmayr, check out the thread titled "Styling Cream" from 3/26 a little ways down the listing in WEN. A curly girl (Arianny) discusses how she used the Styling cream for success and also there are other comments that should help. Arianny had the same problem with frizz that you are having.

I have fine hair that is very very curly but it's very thick not thin and is past my shoulders when curly and a little past bra strap length when straight. When I use Wen only styling products (or any product really) I have to use ALOT. I use about 3 pumps of the 613 styling creme which is a lot more then the bottle reccomends and of any other styling creme I need about 5 pumps and then I use 15 pumps of the mousse. My hair comes out great that way.. However, because I am back in school, I cannot afford to use Wen only styling products exclusively (I do however use the CC and remoist and oils exclusively). I only use ithe styling products on special occasions or when I need the protection to straighten it (maybe 4-5 times a year). The only reason I can afford Wen is because of the TSVs and my mother who gifts me Wen on special occasions. So.... In between I use a gel by Herbal Essences called Totally Twisted Scrunching Gel. It's very lightweight, does not make my hair crunchy at all, it defines my ringlets and does not frizz, even in the rain! And it's about $4 a bottle. It lasts me about 4 uses a bottle. I've recommended it to tons of my curly haired clients/friends and they all love it as well. It's worth a try!

As someone w waist-length dry/wavy/thin hair--I too am always on the hunt for good hair products.

Most recently, I used Carol's Daughter (hsn) Co-Wash --then used WEN's POM as a leave-in from mid-shaft down.

I also air-dry--so after my hair has been towel-wrapped for a few minutes--I then used a nickle-sized amount (amount will vary accordingly) of TAYA Beauty(hsn) Styling Cream.

I rubbed my palms together to spread product on hands--then starting at top of head I scrunched the cream throughout my hair.

Then I flipped my head over and kept scrunching, and kept flipping my head up and down a few times (still scrunching) to speed up the air-drying time!

My hair came out wavy and looked thicker and not dry-looking.

Sounds complicated but was not in reality!

Good luck w whatever you try!

I also would highly recommend you look into DevaCurl products for your hair. It made a world of difference in my fine/naturally hair once I decided to stop straightening it. I sometimes add the WEN 613 mousse to my DevaCurl routine, but no other WEN products.

One of the secrets for curl definition and frizz avoidance is to make sure you put your styling product into VERY wet hair. Use enough that when you scrunch the product in you hear a ""squish"" noise. Keep scrunching until your curls form and then avoid too much touching. Just place your curls into the bowl of the diffuser and let it do the work.

The naturallycurly.com website has loads of good info too!

Hello! I also have fine, thing curly hair and struggled with frizz and definition. I LOVE my WEN products, but I've given up on all WEN styling products because none of them did an adequate job of frizz control or definition for my own hair. The closest is the mousse, which added a lovely, glossy shine and some definition.

I switched to curly-specific styling products and I'm so much happier! I also make sure that I only use an old cotton t-shirt to blot my hair dry, as any other towel, even microfiber, has loops that catch the hair cuticle and cause frizz. I loved my old microfiber towels for 10 years, but after I tried the t-shirt, I never went back.

I like DevaCurl and Ouidad products, but my holy grail for frizz control and definition is Curl Keeper, by Curly Hair Solutions. After trying what feels like every single "humidity proof" product known to curly girls across the land, that's the only one that has really worked to prevent frizz in high and low humidity situations. It's a light hold and you can use more for stronger hold or add a little gel over it if you want more hold. Right now I use Clairol Herbal Essences Set Me Up gel, but it's hard to find. I also love Ouidad's Climate Control and Curl Quencher gels and the gels by DevaCurl.

Enough moisture also helps prevent frizz, so you may want to add WEN Remoist and/or the oils to your routine. Hope that helps!

On 3/28/2014 ChynnaBlue said:

ChynnaBlue, lol, a few months ago I finally dragged out a ratty old 100% cotton t-shirt and started blotting my hair dry with it (just like Chaz has been telling us to... over and over and over again). Once again, I find my self saying...

Why don't I just listen to Chaz the first time?

I can tell the difference in my hair and now I won't use anything to blot my hair dry except that ratty old t-shirt!!

Thanks for the info about moisture helping preventing frizz. I had no clue. I'm going to have to tweak my hair care routine once again.

-- bebe

Curly Whip by Hair Rules. Apply it to towel-dried/still damp hair and scrunch it in. Sopping wet hair will make it run and wash out, so will the manufacturer's directions to rinse hair after applying. Amazing product for fine curly hair.

I've been using a full pump of styling creme and putting it into sopping wet hair, but I don't hear this "squishing" sounds.

-- bebe

I've done "the t-Shirt" over the last few weeks and the difference really surprises me. With that and my stylist's WONDERFUL work, I'm all of a sudden grateful for the curl, and MOST important, my 67 hairs actually cover my numerous bald spots!

More would just overwhelm my hair, making it flat and greasy. Now I can use a whole pump of SC on my thin/fine, shoulder length hair without any issues.

-- bebe

Thanks for all the info ladies. I am the OP of this thread. I purchased the gallon of BGT and am contemplating the LAV or TT gallon. I have tried DevaCurl which helps. Should I also try the TT oil for scalp treatment? Thanks again ladies. There is such a wealth of information in this forum.
