So Far in my Wen journey I have only used CC, oil and remoist. I would like to add/try the RTM, SC, and VTS, but am not sure which scent to get. Does it effect performance for these products or is it like the remoist and a matter of personal preference on the scents (and possible allergies of course)? TIA

** If it matters, what would you recommend? I have fine straight limp hair, below shoulder length, and would like it to be thicker

I think many do not find any diff in performance for RTM and SC. I find the TT versions a little thinner (SC), perhaps not quite a moisturizing (RTM). My comment concerns SAM, POM and TT, and 613 the only cores I use. That said, as I cut off old hair, my hair is reacting better to everything. As for VTS, I do not use LAV, but experience no difference in the SAM and POM VTS. They are both great.

The scents are not supposed to make a difference, however I have found some of them do.

I too have fine straight hair (which is limp, but will hold a curl) to about bra strap length and would like it to be thicker - although hopefully you will have the same experience I have had with WEN which has made it feel thicker and healthier.

That said - my experience is that with VTS, SAM has the strongest hold, POM the softest, LAV falls in the middle but closer to SAM.

For the SC's - once upon a time these were tailored to specific hair types, although I have read on this board that they no longer are. I have an old bottle of SAM which is too heavy for my hair. TT, LAV, POM, FIG all work great. I would say that POM seems to be the lightest, followed by Fig. I have not tried CA or 613...yet.

For RTM - I have not noticed as much difference in the scents...although POM and the new SOB seem to be slightly more moisturizing than SAM, TT, or LAV. I do have to be careful with this product as it can weigh my hair down. I tend to use it only on the ends, or to spray it on my hands and then smooth down flyaways.

Michele

I don't think they matter much when it comes to the Replenishing Treatment Mist or Volumizing Treatment Mist.

I have heard Chaz explain the differences for the Styling Cream, though:

Fine Hair -
*Cucumber Aloe
*Lavender

Medium & Coarse Hair -
*Fig
*Sweet Almond Mint

Universal -
*Pomegranate
*Tea Tree

I have fine, long, straight hair as well, but I have a lot of hair so it is thick. It was not always this thick, but I have been using WEN since December 2009 so over time it just seems like my hair has become thicker. Before Six Thirteen Styling Creme I used Pomegranate and Cucumber Aloe Styling Creme. I seem to get the most shine and control over what style I want with the Six Thirteen Styling Creme. Remember to rake, twist, and squeeze! When it comes to the Replenishing Treatment Mist I use whatever scent I am in the mood for. I find the Bamboo Green Tea gives my hair extra shine though. I have a bottle of Lavendar Volumizing Treatment Spray, but I rarely use it. My understanding though is you just order your preference in scent for that as well... I hope that helps a little!

On 3/20/2014 JeanLouiseFinch said:
I don't think they matter much when it comes to the Replenishing Treatment Mist or Volumizing Treatment Mist.

I have heard Chaz explain the differences for the Styling Cream, though:

Fine Hair -
*Cucumber Aloe
*Lavender

Medium & Coarse Hair -
*Fig
*Sweet Almond Mint

Universal -
*Pomegranate
*Tea Tree

He used to say they were all the same and then started this one day and I don't know why. Aside from the Pom always being nut/gluten free and the 613 always being WEN++, I don't really think there's much difference. I've used several of the styling creams (Sweet Almond Mint, Pom, Fig, Tea Tree) and haven't noticed any difference in any of them.
