I use this almost every day and I personally don't think it leaves a dewy finish. I wouldn't call it matte though either. I know a lot of people wear a light dusting of powder foundation or finishing powder over it. I have dry skin so I don't find that necessary.

I've read the good reviews, but haven't seen anyone address this issue:

I have oily skin and evidently this product leaves a dewy look. Will it make my skin look more oily?

It does leave a very dewy finish, but a little bit less so as it dries. I don't think it will make your skin oilier. I have combo-skin and actually find it a little drying. Which I find acceptable, since it doesn't break me out, so I will take a slight emphasis on wrinkles. I think a topping of whatever powder you like on top, and blotting later in the day should do it. In fact, if I lightly blot the T zone after I apply it takes some shine off immediately.

Yes, it's awful for my oily skin! I love the coverage, but it's so shiny and it's streaking off my face after a couple of hours. It has very little wear time on oily skin. I've even tried it with a primer and setting powder. I use Tarte's BB primer with amazing results and great oil control.

I just got the TSV on Monday, tried it yesterday, and I'm a little undecided. I've got pretty oily skin, set it with a powder, had to blot about 3ish hrs after application. It's got great coverage. I would think a primer might help, but isn't the purpose of a primer to be a barrier between your face and your makeup? You wouldn't get the skin care benefits of it using it with a primer, would you?

I have oily skin and have no problem with the CC cream. I use a light dusting of celebration foundation on top of the CC cream to help combat the oil in my skin, and then use the Bye Bye Pores finishing powder. I always carry blotting paper (rice paper) with me and only have to use it maybe once a day.

I found it drying for my comination skin too. I think it has light reflecting properties to make you look luminous, not necessarily dewy. I also felt it emphasized my poors and lines because it was too drying.

I love IT CC because of what I don't have to prep my skin with before applying make-up: it simplifies, but yes, it is dewy. To counteract that, I use Mally's primer. When I travel, that big jar is not convenient, so I use a primer by Neutrogena which works really well. For all of the benefits and ease of using IT, I had to find a solution to the dewiness (which on me can look downright greasy at times!).

        Poodlepet
