I have short hair, about like the Philosophy ladies, and I have not been doing the leave in pump. My hair has been straw like...a lot of gray coming in. I am 67, How much of a pump should I be using to condition my hair. I am afraid 1 whole pump would be too much. Thank you so much!

Hi Jhincher

You can start with 1/2 a pump (from the 16oz bottle) as a leave-in...if it's not enough you can add a bit more after your next cleanse.

bruingirl

I'm not sure of the exact consistency of your hair. But, I would say one pump should be fine, especially since you're complaining about dry hair. I would give it a try. The worst that would happen is you have to wash your hair again. and nothing is more moisturizing than water.

I would think if your hair is around the length of Dara's a half pump worked into the ends really well would be enough, but if it is more the length of Heidi's you may need a full pump and really rake, twist, and push it into your hair from the midshaft to the ends. The only other thing I can think of is you may want to try some other formulas of WEN to we if that helps at all .

Start small and add more. We can't tell you how much is best for your hair only because we don't know, but some trial and error will help you figure it out pretty quickly. That's how we all learned.

Which WEN formula are you using? If your hair is straw-like and you haven't tried Fig, I recommend that one. I've tried most of the core formulas and Fig is the only one that really gives me enough moisture for my dry hair. I mix it with other things, like Tea Tree, but Tea Tree on its own leaves me dry.

My hair is probably the length of Chaz's and I usually use 613 when I remember to use it and I use about a pea size amount, I had stopped using it and need to start using it again since he said it was supposed to help with keeping moisture in hair.

I have been using Wen for two years or more and never did the leave in before. I could kick myself!!! Thanks again!

Jhincher, that's great! Wen is wonderful, but it does have a learning curve.

Initially, I would use one pump as a leave-in (from 16 oz. bottle). That was too much for my hair and so I experimented by slowly using lese and less of the CC leave-in (I eventually went down to 1/4 pump). Eventually I figured out that 1/2 a pump of CC worked best for my hair.

Have you tried adding the Styling Creme to your leave-in (after putting in the CC)?

I have shoulder length hair and I always add 1/3 pump of 613 SC. Initially, I started using one pump of SC but that made my hair a bit stiff and, eventually, I found that 1/3 pump SC worked best for me. -- The SC helps to protect your hair against blow drying. I air dry my hair and the SC helps seal the moisture in my hair.

-- bebe

Isn't it fun to experiment and find ways to make it better!
