613 Problems

I have been using the 613 formula since it first came out as an occasional boost. I find that when i use it my hair feels oily and sort of weighed down. I don't know if I am doing something wrong because I use it just like any of the other formulas and I follow Chaz's directions for use. I thought everybody was supposed to be able to use it. I'm just asking because I just picked up a few of the TSVs so I'm getting even more 613...I'd like to be able to use it....

Are you using it on its own or mixing it in with another CC?

I don't use it as a cleanser, but always use it as my leave-in and as my overnight deep treatments. I too feel like has a bit more slick or oil to it, which is why I like it as my leave in.

I've heard some use it as a face cleanser, I've been meaning to try that! Lots of uses.

I had been using it as my leave in too but i felt like the other CCs kept my hair lighter. Well sometimes I mix sometimes i do one as a first cleanse and then another as a second cleanse. It just depends... And I'm not the only one. My mom ran out of her BGT and tried to use the 613 but said it made her hair oily too and we have totally different hair types... So I'm not the only one.

It is like the other formulas, but that doesn't mean it works great for everyone or works only one way. People use it a variety of ways - I can't use it alone as a cleanser or as a leave in - leaves my hair feeling dry and fly away, but it works great as an add-on - just an additional pump with my regular cc. I also use it to prime my hair for a Remoist treatment.

613 has more protein than the other cc's and some people's hair doesn't need a lot of extra protein.

If your hair is feeling oily and weighed down when you use it, maybe you're not adding enough water as you're working it in. It is a thicker formula than the other cc's and takes more water to make it "froth". Try that and see if it helps.

I'm one of the WENners that uses 613 as a facial cleanser and absolutely love what it does for my skin.

I use 613 as a facial cleanser to and love it. I've never had a problem with it leaving my hair feeling oily though, it is pretty thick though so maybe your not rinsing long enough. I have very short hair, probably about the length of Chaz so mine is pretty easy to rinse.

My hair loves and needs protein, so I use it as a first cleanse on a weekly basis. I've never gotten an oily build up or feel from it.

When I first started using it, it was one of those wow what a difference it made for my hair moments. I think it repaired a lot of the damage I had done to my hair over time. After a while, I only needed it every other wash. Now I use it in a mix with other CC.

I just started (after reading a thread about other uses for Wen products) to use 6/13 as a makeup remover. I just wash off the makeup no hassles, very fast and I use a pea size amount.

You might try using less of the 613 cc if you use it alone. Today I used 613 alone for 1st & 2nd cleanse. Instead of 4 pumps like I use with Lav I used 3 pumps of 613 & lots of water to froth & comb through. While I wouldn't use this every day it might be a good weekly treatment.

yeah because i have an oily scalp naturally so I don't like anything to make it more oily. I think i will try it just occasionally because I usually mix it. and I will definitely try it as a makeup remover. Thanks ladies!

I was thinking the same thing. KittyKat L, you mentioned that you "use it just like any of the other formulas", but 613 is more concentrated than Chaz's other forumulas. So you may be using too much of it. Read the instructions on the back of the bottle and then compare it with the instructions on the bottle of any other CC. hth.
