Using wen 2x a day will cause balding? Help!

I have been using wen for years. I use the pomegranate cleansing conditioner... I have no complains that my hair is soft and healthy... Recently, just noticed that top part of my hair (bangs) is thinning.. I'm getting concerned.. Do I need to use other variants ? Help!

Why do you think it's Wen causing the problem? Could it be hereditary?

I'm too scared to use this product. Read too many women are losing their hair using Wen. There's so many products on the market for shampooing hair, why use a product that may possibly cause baldness. I don't get the attraction to this product at all. It's like playing with a loaded gun. Somebody's bound to get hurt.

Since you mentioned that you have been using WEN for years without any problems, and have just recently started experiencing an adverse reaction to it. I would guess that it was something else and that changing the formula would not help alleviate the problem.

I guess I'm confused because you say you use Wen 2x a day? I'm not sure I'd want to shampoo my hair twice a day unless I'm outside working and getting all sweaty/dirty.

Personally, I don't use Wen, but I would agree with the poster, icezeus.

I have no idea. I use WEN differently as a conditoner. I shampoo with my reg. shampoo and then I use WEN and my hair is thicker then it has ever been. Maybe switch up the way you are using WEN...or it could be something else?

My dermatologist laughed when I told him about all the messages on the boards that said Wen caused their hair to fall out and the follicles were being "blocked". He told me nonsense...unless the rare person has a true allergy to an ingredient, there is nothing in Wen that is going to cause hair loss...told me not to believe everything I read! Also, he told me his wife is a "Wen girl".

What he did say is that you need to rinse Wen two or three times longer than you would a regular shampoo.

Hormones have a lot to do with hair loss/shedding. I had more shedding when I was taking the bc pill. Once I stopped, my hair has come in thicker than it has ever been before. I have been using Wen for almost 2 years.

When you say you use Wen 2x per day, do you mean that you use it as directed (two applications) or that you go through the washing procedure twice per day? If it is the latter, may I ask why?

My experience has been completely different. I've actually stopped losing hair and it's now thicker than it's ever been. That's why I'm so obsessed with Wen. I'll never be without it.

I am concerned that these sulfate free shampoos are not really cleaning the scalp like they should be...especially the ones without lather such as WEN (I have found "sulfate free" shampoos in other brands that lather). I personally have used WEN but did not have good results. If you really want to continue to use WEN, try organic apple cider vinegar on your scalp or something to really get your scalp clean. I think shedding may occur when the scalp is not really clean.

OP: if you are entering menopause, the hair loss could be a naturally occurring phenomenon. I suspect this may be the case for many women who are concerned about Wen. I am pre-menopausal and I know that my hair has undergone a huge change. It used to be very curly and now it is wavy at best. Hormones are at the root of many things.

You can get your hormones checked and Thyroid........I have not read the posts but look at the side effects of all of your medication even over the counter...........stress also......start taking Biotin and MSM.........but ask your pharmacy or doctor first. I would change shampoo. I love Davines.

cotto22, I asked the same question because the post said "using wen 2x a day.....". I don't see the need to use it twice a day, but the OP didn't answer.

Again, unless I'm working outside and sweating/dirty, I wouldn't wash my hair more than once a day. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but haven't received a reply.
