Face spf that doesn't sting?

I just bought Aveeno face lotion spf 50...with "oats," and it burns my eyes, even though it states that it is "sweat-proof."

Is there a face spf that is not white with zinc, heavy, or oily feeling ...and doesn't burn the eyes? If so, PLEASE let me know. I am not having success.

(It could have a tint...but no burning eyes!)

If you have a derm you go to, ask them. Never had burning experience with SPF I and use any drug store brand with SPF 30. Good luck

Does this mean that no one has an spf that that doesn't burn? I don't have a derm, otherwise, that would be a good idea; I was just hoping that someone has a fave spf that would work?

High end or drugstore...I am not picky as long as it doesn't burn and feels non-existant.

I use Skinceuticals Sheer Physical Defense SPF 50. I have sensitive skin/eyes, but this never bothers me. It's a fantastic liquid--not thick or oily. And it dries to a nice semi-matte finish. The one I use is not tinted, so it has a whitish tint (makeup covers right up). They also have a tinted version, if you prefer that. I usually purchase it online. Some med spas carry it, too.

Paula's Choice Resist super light spf 30. It is zinc oxide but is tinted. I love it! It is lightweight and works really well under makeup. I also apply it under my eyes without any problems.

I can only use the stuff that has zinc oxide as the main protector against the sun. The ones that have more chemicals always sting my sensitive skin.

Peter Thomas Roth oil-free spf 30 and there is an oil-free spf 50 in a stick form.

I wear contacts and have sensitive eyes. I have found Neutragena liquid sunscreen to be great. I bought it in the drug store for around fifteen dollars. It is a liquid that adds no weight to your skin and dries down quickly. No white cast either. I have SPF of 70. HTH

I use 'clear' Zinc Oxide. Very inexpensive, $4. SPF 50, very gentle on the skin. WalMart. You can easily find with infant's & children's products. Non-greasy. I'm part vampire and avoid sun. When I know I'll be out all day, I apply after cleansing my face and applying DD Hydroshield. I do allow about 15 minutes before applying any foundation or CCs.

Having spent my teen summers covered with white zinc oxide, I was OVERJOYED when I found the clear zinc oxide a number of years ago.

The physical sunscreens tend to NOT irritate skin as much as the chemical ones. I love and use Josie Maran's SPF 40 every morning. I also like SkinCeuticals Sheer Fusion SPF. Both physical blocks that are good for my skin.

My eyes normally sting and water from using SPF on my face so I used to avoid it (bad, I know) until I stumbled upon Dr. Denese Tinted Day Cream - not only does it not bother my eyes but even the instructions say you could use it over your eyelids.

Went through a trying period looking for a sunscreen that didn't burn my eyes as the day wore on. Dr. Denese day cream with SPF is a dream and it's color-tinted.

I ALWAYS have burning and stinging with any sunscreen that contains chemical sunscreens and occasionally will have stinging with sunscreens with high zinc (physical sunscreen) % so I totally understand.

The only higher zinc product (with a tint) that I have tried that doesn't burn or sting at all is Paula's choice super light spf. Even Josie Maran's SPF stings my skin and bothers my eyes just like one with chemical sunscreen but it is physical sunscreen only so I have no idea why it does that. The other one I've been using with no issues is Paula's choice Skin recovery SPF.

I hate just about every sunscreen because almost all of them sting. I remember years ago slathering Waterbabies sunscreen all over my little boys and then one day deciding to put it on my own face... well that c r a p stung my face so bad I nearly hit the roof. And to think I was piling it on my babies' skin. Ugh. Laura Mercier Tinted moisturizer is one that doesn't irritate my skin and I've used it forever. However, it's just spf 20. The only other one I like is the Josie Maran Spf 40, but I think they're reformulating that one.

I second the IT TSV. I have sensitive eyes and skin and it doesn't bother me at all. It also works - wore it last year on my face at the beach and no burn.
