I am trying to figure out, how the active ingredients in the IT CC cream are able to penetrate the skin when there a physical sunscreen that does not penetrate the skin. There must be a special "technology" to allow that long list of ingredients do their job on the skin. I am very curious. Was this ever explained by Jamie? TIA.

You can ask her on Facebook. Possibly since the sunscreen isn't nanofied particles, they are larger than the other ingredient molecules. So, the other ingredients would sink the deepest while the sunblock would sit on the surface of the skin.

This is what has always bothered me about all the claims they make about BB creams and CC creams. Just like you mentioned, some products are meant to sink into the skin and others should stay on top like sunscreen and primer. I don't think there can truly be an all in one product. I have the IT CC cream and I like it, but I use it as makeup and sunscreen, the products that are supposed to stay on top. I use a serum and moisturizer underneath.

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but here's a related issue to think about. The product ingredients are always listed by percentage, decreasing. The first ingredient is water. The second ingredient is snail secretion (they lost me here, I don't want snail slime on my face). Next are butylene glycol and a bunch of silicones, and a few other chemicals. These ingredients have got to make up a large percentage of the total volume.

Ok - now we get to the "skin care" ingredients, what, about 50? Let's say you put about a teaspoon of this on your face, 3/4 of that is the main ingredients, and the 1/4 teasp left is divided among 50 or so ingredients. Do you think anything in that small of an amount will have any effect?

There are so many ingredients in this that there is no way the majority of them are doing anything at all, even if they do penetrate. It is complete overkill.

Like someone else mentioned, the size of the molecules matter. SPF isn't as much of an issue as certain silicones, which can prevent certain ingredients from penetrating it depending on their molecule size.

But again, in this case, it doesn't even matter really since most of those ingredients are in such minute amount that they are doing nothing whatsoever even if they can penetrate.

I hope Jamie addresses this on one of her shows today. I agree that with this being an SPF 50 and full coverage and the cream sitting on top of the skin, if the company has a technology that allows all of the "good stuff" to penetrate, it would be nice to hear about it.
